#CL2# and Geerindi counters by clinching up. #TD2# Geerindi jumps into guard, dragging Montgomery to the mat.
#SUB2# Geerindi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #SUB# Montgomery has gone for a leg lock! Geerindi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Montgomery's guard.#REVB##SUB# Montgomery looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Geerindi passes into side control.
Geerindi tries to stand but Montgomery is controlling his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montgomery is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montgomery is not content to let Geerindi control the position. #T1# Montgomery tries to bench press Geerindi off him but Geerindi keeps the position. Geerindi scoring with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Geerindi wants to stand but Montgomery is controlling his arm. Geerindi wants to control but Montgomery is keeping him busy. Geerindi in side control, throwing shots but Montgomery defends. You can see the frustration on Montgomery's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Montgomery tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Geerindi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Montgomery sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.#T2# Montgomery wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Montgomery manages to regain full guard. Nice work. #SUB# Montgomery had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Geerindi defends it easily. Geerindi trying to control the position from guard on top but Montgomery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Geerindi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Montgomery keeping moving, preventing Geerindi from controlling successfully. #SUB# Montgomery had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Geerindi defends it easily. Geerindi won't allow Montgomery to sweep him here. #T3##SUB# Geerindi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montgomery has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Geerindi has managed to get both his arms back between Montgomery's legs - danger averted. Montgomery has a closed guard, preventing Geerindi from standing up. Montgomery keeping moving, preventing Geerindi from controlling successfully. Geerindi looks winded!#SUB# Montgomery looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Montgomery lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR##T4# Montgomery wants to control from the top but Geerindi keeps moving. Geerindi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Geerindi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Montgomery is controlling him. Geerindi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Montgomery passes Geerindi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Montgomery is looking to take a break and control but Geerindi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Geerindi is trying to maintain the position but Montgomery is very close to passing his half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montgomery uses his free foot to push down on Geerindi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Geerindi. #SUB# Montgomery has hold of Geerindi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Geerindi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Diesel Montgomery dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# Montgomery fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Geerindi out cold! Brutal finish!
