Rivera dives in and grabs Valo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Valo pushes down on Rivera's head and hops out.
Rivera shoots in looking for a takedown. Valo tries to sprawl out of it but Rivera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Valo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Valo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rivera fails with the takedown
and Valo counters with a stiff right hand. #CUT2#It looks like Panchito Rivera has been cut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Panchito Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rivera wants to stay close but Valo steps back to make room for something. Rivera seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Valo and Rivera drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

A relieved looking Ville Valo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Rivera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rivera lands a decent elbow from side control.
Rivera lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Rivera creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Rivera lands a few punches from side control.
Valo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rivera lands an elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valo tries to improve position but can't.
Rivera cracks Valo with a big right hand but Valo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Rivera scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Valo is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Rivera can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pineapple enables Rivera to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pineapple manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pineapple might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
