Julius Caesar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Bisping. Bisping has his takedown stuffed and Caesar counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Caesar swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bisping takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Jab by Caesar.#CUT# It looks like Michael Bisping has been cut. Caesar lands with a shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bisping shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Caesar as he jumps to the side. Caesar pushes Bisping back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Caesar lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bisping backwards. Caesar lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. #ROC# Bisping is rocked! Caesar creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bisping with a big uppercut! Bisping tries to clinch up but Caesar pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Bisping to the mat! Bisping covers up and Caesar unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

#R1##TD# Baals gets caught flat footed, as Punk shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Baals keeping moving, preventing Punk from controlling successfully. Baals managing to control the position. Baals wants to sweep but no luck. Punk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baals can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baals is pulling down on Punk's head. It's preventing any offense from Punk, at least for the moment. Punk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1# Baals keeping full guard, as Punk tries to pass. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Baals is pulling down on Punk's head. It's preventing any offense from Punk, at least for the moment.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Punk shoots in for a takedown but Baals shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It seemed like Baals was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Baals is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Punk tries for a takedown but Baals circles away easily letting Baals counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CM Punk. That's going to take a lot out of him. and Lewis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. #CUT2# It looks like Gary Aims has been cut. Aims bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lewis's head backwards. Aims has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AXIS - Rio Gym in the buildup to the fight. Aims looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lewis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Aims. Aims throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lewis. #KD2# Lewis drops Aims with a beautiful combination! Aims stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lewis is looking for the KO!#ROC2# Aims is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aims dips to his left and cracks Lewis with an uppercut! Lewis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Aims. Lewis unleashes a big counter combination but Aims bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. We've been informed that Lewis has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Lewis lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Oh Aims is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Aims throws an overhand right that lands on Lewis's shoulder, as Lewis tries to avoid the shot. Lewis throws out a counter right but Aims avoids it with no problem. Aims seems to have got his legs back now. Lewis dodges the punch combination from Aims.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lewis! But no joy. Aims blocks a jab. Lewis lands with a big right hook that stumbles Aims - he's out on his feet here! Lewis follows up with another monster hook that separates Aims from consciousness! Aims falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Lewis stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Calirante stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Landen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Landen keeping moving, preventing Calirante from controlling successfully. Calirante controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Calirante trying to control the position from guard on top but Landen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.#T1# Landen being controlled here, momentarily. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Calirante with a nice cross. Calirante tries to clinch but fails miserably and Landen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Calirante blocks a head kick by Landen.

Calirante misses with a kick to the body and Landen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Landen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Calirantes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Landen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Calirante cracks Landen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.#ROC# Landen is rocked! Calirante throws a head kick that misses. Landen pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Calirante drops his hands momentarily and Landen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A low kick from Landen is predictable there and Calirante counters with a nice kick to the body. Calirante is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Landen. Calirante connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Landen momentarily.
Landen is still on wobbly legs! Can Calirante finish him? and Calirante counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Landen! He's just covering up as Calirante starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Souza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Souza wants it to stay on the feet. Souza lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Punk at a distance.
A jab from Souza misses. Souza lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Punk shoots in and drives through. Souza sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CM Punk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Punk shoots for a double leg takedown but Souza sprawls well. He's pushed Punk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Souza tries to counter by closing the distance. Souza throws a jab when Punk was well out of range. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Punk passes to full mount! No, Souza has managed to get both his arms back between Punk's legs - danger averted.

#R1# A head kick by Beliy misses #TD2# and Punk counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Beliy! Beliy tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Punk trying to control but Beliy is having none of it. Punk wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Punk controlling the position easily from mount. Beliy has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
#SUB2# Punk has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Beliy is defending well but eventually Punk manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Beliy has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). CM Punk! After the fight, CM Punk was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

That kick from Dios tenderised Punk's leg. Punk is trying to keep his angry face on. A slapping leg kick lands for Dios.
Dios dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Punk. That did some damage! Dios throws a head kick that half lands.

#ROC# Adams is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adams takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Adams is still on wobbly legs! Can McArthy finish him? McArthy lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Adams up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs McArthy from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Adams's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Udo jabs Thomas to the body, keeping him at a distance. #R1##TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Bravo. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bravo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McArthy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. McArthy is not in a great position here, taking some shots. #SUB# Bravo tries for a kimura but McArthy is defending well. McArthy taking a bit of punishment here - Bravo scoring with strikes. Sloppy strikes there by Bravo. You can see the frustration on McArthy's face as Bravo controls the position. McArthy wants to get back to his feet but Bravo drags him back down. Lewis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Thorsen slips under a jab. Thorsen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Lewis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Thorsen throws a right and a left that both miss. Thorsen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thorsen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.#ROC2# Lewis is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lewis is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Thorsen doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Lewis crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Lewis's bad books for that mishap!
