Lacroix cracks Beasley with a solid left hand. Lacroix is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Beasley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lacroix must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lacroix chips away with some ground and pound. Beasley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Beasley wants to get back to his feet but Lacroix is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Beasley keeping moving, preventing Lacroix from controlling successfully. Beasley wants to sweep but no luck. Beasley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. #R1##TD2# Green shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Monroe's guard.#SUB# Monroe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Green defends well. Green stopping the sweep attempt from Monroe.#SUB# Monroe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Green defends it easily. Green wants to pass the guard but Monroe is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green throws a strike but Monroe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR# Monroe trying to control but Green is working from the bottom. #T1# Monroe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Monroe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Green for as long as he can get away with.#T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Monroe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Green wants to stand and escape but Monroe is having none of it. Green being controlled here, momentarily. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tucker Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# Green darts in and clinches Monroe up against the cage.#BC2# Green breaks from the clinch.
Green lands with a kick to the temple. Monroe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" #CUT2# It looks like Brad Monroe has been cut. Monroe throws a sloppy head kick and Green moves out of range easily. Monroe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Green paws at him with a jab and circles away. Green steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Monroe.#T3# Monroe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Green circles away.#CL2# Green fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Monroe, pushing him back against the cage.#TD2# Monroe is fighting off a takedown attempt but Green is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Monroe to the mat. Monroe regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Monroe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
#ES# Monroe manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Monroe changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Green fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Green leaves Monroe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Green changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Monroe.
