Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Wallen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Barkley lands with a right to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barkley digs a right hand into Stenius's ribs. Maker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pursov on the side of the head. #CUT2# It looks like Anton Pursov has been cut. Maker keeps the fight on the outside. Maker looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Pursov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maker paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maker throws a head kick but Pursov moves out of range.
Maker throws a series of punches but Pursov avoids them all with ease. It looked like Pursov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Pursov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pursov slips a jab and a cross from Maker.
Pursov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Maker throws a half hearted mid kick. Pursov fails with the takedown. Maker is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Maker shuts the power down on Pursov. Lights out, game over! Maker is your winner.

Makela tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson tries to clinch but Makela is having none of it. Johnson throws a combination that misses #TD2# and Makela counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Johnson! Johnson is not content to let Makela control the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.#SUB2# Makela is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson is not content to let Makela control the position. #T1# Makela misses with the ground and pound. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Makela on the ground. Makela wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. #SUB2# Makela thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson parries the strikes from Makela easily there. Makela is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Johnson to escape.
Makela wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Johnson is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Dungeon Brawler Gym ($800/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.#SUB2# Makela working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Makela cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Joe was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Drung scores with a decent looking hook. Joe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Drung tries to bum rush Joe with a series of wild strikes but Joe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Joe lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Bolan Drung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drung throws a lazy right hand but Joe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Joe slips under a jab from Drung. Drung throws a hook but Joe blocks it. Joe takes one on the chin but seems OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sykes tries to escape but Makela is in control. Sykes striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

Joe misses with a takedown and Teller counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Joe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teller tries to avoid it but Joe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teller to the ground. Teller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Teller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.#T1# Teller swats away the attempt to clinch by Joe. Teller feints the counter takedown. Joe dodges the punch combination from Teller.
