#R1# Grimes throws a sloppy head kick and Butler moves out of range easily. Butler throws a counter combo. Grimes keeps the fight on the outside. Butler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#TD2# Butler gets a takedown into half guard.#ES# Grimes pushes Butler off and gets back to his feet. Butler swings for the body but Grimes moves out of range.
#TD2# Butler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Butler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB# Grimes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Butler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Grimes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR##T1##SUB2# Butler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grimes defends it easily. Grimes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Butler works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Grimes trying to control but Butler is working from the bottom. Butler controls Grimes momentarily but Grimes frees himself. Butler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grimes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Butler wants to control the position but Grimes says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Grimes prevents Butler from improving his position. Butler is trying to control but Grimes manages to pass to mount!
Butler tries to lock up and control but Grimes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Grimes unloading with bombs! He has the arm isolated but Butler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Grimes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butler keeps working. Butler looking for a sweep but Grimes has passed into full mount! Oh no! Butler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. #T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Butler tries to improve his position but instead Grimes has taken his back! Grimes controls the position. Butler tries to roll but Grimes sticks to his back.

Grimes was covering up waiting for the punch and Butler finishes the takedown easily into guard. Grimes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR# Grimes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Butler has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Grimes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. #T1# Grimes wants to control from the top but Butler keeps moving. Grimes with a flurry of punches that miss. Grimes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Butler is trying to control the position from the bottom.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Butler is looking to stand up but Grimes isn't so interested in that idea. Butler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grimes is one step ahead there. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Butler wants to hit a switch here but Grimes passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Butler there! Grimes wants to stand but Butler is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Grimes manages to capitalize on a mistake by Butler to take his back! Grimes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Butler can do to turn this around? Grimes not allowing Butler to control his hands. #SUB# Butler has hold of Grimes's leg, trying to break free but it's let Grimes lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Butler is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Grimes throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.

Butler throws a right hand that Carmichael ducks under and follows up with a left that Carmichael also avoids with ease. Carmichael keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Carmichael scores with a jab. Butler acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Butler walks into a jab. Nice shot by Carmichael . Carmichael punishes Butler's body with a nice straight punch. Butler tries to clinch up but Carmichael circles away and keeps his distance.#TD# Butler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carmichael 's half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#SUB# Butler is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Carmichael leaves Butler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Carmichael might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Carmichael thuds a left hand into Butler's body. It seemed like Carmichael was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Butler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carmichael stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carmichael wants it to stay on the feet. Roosevelt Butler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Butler takes a shot right to the bread basket.
