Said drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carpathia gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Said tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carpathia just stands there and leans against the cage. Said working aggressively here.
Said misses with a punch to the body.
#BC# Said breaks the clinch.
Carpathia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Said's waist but Said gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carpathia off to one side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Said misses with a takedown attempt #TD2# and Carpathia counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Said! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ahmad Said. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carpathia tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Carpathia content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. #T1# Said sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carpathia is taking a breather. Said says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Said punching from the bottom.
#SUB# Said looking for submissions off his back. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Said is trying to get back to full guard.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Said fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#T3# Carpathia stuffs the takedown.#CL2# Carpathia closes the distance and clinches. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Said creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Carpathia is defending well against a takedown attempt. Said has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carpathia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Said is breathing heavily. Said misses with a body punch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Carpathia changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Said fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Said is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carpathia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. #T4# Said throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ahmad Said seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Said shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carpathia as he avoids it easily. Carpathia changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.#TD2# Said gets caught napping as Carpathia dives in and scores a takedown. Said manages to retain guard. Carpathia engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carpathia passes Said's left leg - he's now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.#R2# Said tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carpathia paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carpathia drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Said defends it well. Said throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. Carpathia controls the position. Let's hope that Carpathia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#T3# Said is trying to get back to half guard.#T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Said is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Carpathia has just dragged him back down to the mat. Carpathia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Said stops Carpathia from passing to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A lull in the action here.#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Carpathia closes the distance and clinches up with Said, looking for a takedown. Carpathia pushes Said against the cage but Said circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nico Carpathia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!#R3# Nice takedown defense from Said. No joy for Carpathia on that attempt. Carpathia keeps the fight on the outside. Said tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carpathia defends well and Said ends up having to push Carpathia into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Said tries to pull guard but Carpathia holds him up against the cage and eventually Said drops back down to his feet.

Said is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Carpathia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Nico Carpathia is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.#T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carpathia has a takedown stuffed. Said feinted with a counter takedown. Said closes the distance and clinches up with Carpathia, looking for a takedown. Said pushes Carpathia against the cage but Carpathia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carpathia changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Carpathia is trying hard to land a takedown here. Said sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Said tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Carpathia manages to circle out of the way. Said dives in and grabs Carpathia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carpathia pushes down on Said's head and hops out. Said darts in looking for a takedown but Carpathia gets double underhooks and turns Said into the cage. #TD# Said jumps guard.
Carpathia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#T3# Carpathia works a leg free and moves into half guard. Said wants to control the action here but instead Carpathia manages to pass to full mount! Carpathia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. #T4# Carpathia's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Said has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
And that's the end of the fight! Nico Carpathia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Carpathia winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
