Another event in the books for MMA Hype Promotions. Hype 2 wasn’t as impressive as the previous event, but we saw a lot of fighters eager to get at the top of the ladder. We saw a lot more fans in attendance at Wild Bob’s Bar, and the afterparty at Brett Clarke’s place was legendary to say the least.
A lot of finishes at MMA Hype 2. In fact, 8 out of 10 fights resulted in a stoppage, 6 of these were via (T)KOs. The crowd was insanely active throughout the event, which makes us believe that the place will be packed once we move officially to The Palmtree next week.
The co-main event lasted only 25 seconds. Ismael “Claws” Santana didn’t have time to respond to Lamar Bright’s flurry of punches. He got caught with a solid hook and struggled to keep his composure until the referee stepped in and called the fight.
The main event was more or less the same. The heavyweights, Kyson Everett and Benjamin Espinoza, went all out swinging. Everett tried his best to control the fight with some low kicks, but Espinoza’s reach advantage was way too much and his punches were landing perfectly every time. Just before the 2 minute mark, Espinoza landed with a straight right hand and didn’t bother following with anything else, he knew right away that Everett was out.
