The Belgian Beast

Fighter profile of Divock Origi by Bjorn O'Donnel

Divock "Belgian Beast" Origi

After a long travel by private jet to Sydney, I was picked up by Louie DePalma at the airport and he was accompanied by two Skippy-like creatures. They are his pets he said, but I have no idea why you would want such jumping, smelly beasts as pets. They both have strange names. The first one is called Dinooo, after some scottish guy he met some time ago in Edinburgh. He says that the guy was loud and noisy and when he bought his first kangaroo, that it reminded him of that guy. The second one was called Peel. I'm not sure why he was called like that. It was either because he talked a lot , like a guy he met somewhere in the past as well, or because the stupid beast kept falling over banana peels. The kangaroos were loc

Mick Shaw Q&A

Fighter profile of Kim Shaw by Alika Webb

Q: Dear martial arts fans today I will pay a visit to Mick Shaw. Mick last time we talked about your very first loss that happened in your promotional debut for the organization Immortals in New York City. You were clearly disappointed and ready to redeem yourself. Now we heard that you signed with Imperial in Amsterdam, is that correct?

Mick: That is indeed the case. The next chapter of my life started sooner than I expected.

Q: What happened to your contract with Immortals, did they relea

Dominating Foes

Fighter profile of King Wong by Dale Saw

He has done it again! King Wong wins once again with a absolutely dominating display at Pride 7 on The Island. He fought against Island newcomer Osama Suzuki. The fight went exactly as Wong had hoped. It would not go on to see the second round. And, Suzuki was in trouble from the second the bell rang.

The fight did not enter the clinch game. Wong landed 35/40 shot while Suzuki landed 0/20. King Wong worked in 11/11 head punches and 1/1 to the body. His combos were 1 for 2. When it came to kicking he threw 9 head and leg kicks and 8 kicks to the body. Out of those 6 of the high kicks landed and all of the leg kicks. And, only on

Event Preview: AF Pioneers
Sydney Fighting Club
2015-06-28, Sydney, Wild Bob's Bar - Sydney
Author:Heri Doank

Firstly, I thank to all managers who had accepted the invitations to join my fight organization. Until I send this message, we have 16 fihgters (including 3 of mine) divided into 4 divisions which most are in 205 lbs. I still have 24 unanswered contracts, some managers has logged in today but didn't reply, maybe just wait and see or looking for more money offered from other organizations because I'm just a month manager (lol)

This is the preview of the next event, and I don't want to predict the winner. It's just a bit of guide to set tactics because we can only see opponents' primary skills while most of bouts determined by 2nd and 3rd skills.

Because this is our 1st event and we have only 5 bouts I named it as Pioneers.

Match #1: 205lbs Amelio Iglesias (0-1-0) vs Roger Birbiglia (0-0-0)

Iglesias has huge advantage on BJJ while Birbiglia has huge on boxing and a little on wrestling. They sure will use their advantage to win but Iglesias must consider that Birbiglia’s ground sk

The atmosphere in Wombley Arena was electric as CEC put on another fantastic show, an event that saw us rise to that number 1 global ranking again. With two title fights and a superfight headliner, it was easy to see why fans were pumped up for CEC 388.

265+lbs - Taufiqul Haq vs Gaius Pompaius

The night started off with an open weight bout which saw a debut victory for Pompaius. It didn't take him long to have Haq in trouble, coming out aggressive and cutting him open very early. His accuracy with leg kicks kept him in control of the fight, he was missing a large amount of his head punches but the ones that did land saw the cut get worse. In the last second of round 2, an uppercut ended the night for Haq and Pompaius walked away with a debut win.

205lbs - Wade Wilson vs Harri Mulqvist

Does he have it?

Fighter profile of King Wong by Dale Saw

King Wong is not only a great fighter but he is also the Island's #1 ranked KT fighter. It shows in his 3-0 record too. And, against very stiff competition indeed. He fought 2 fighters that were, at the time of the fight, the #2 ranked KT fighter in their weight division in both Wood Pecker and Thomas Anderson. He is now to fight newcomer Osama Suzuki.

He fought very well against all opponents thus far, landing far more shot and preventing his opponents for scoring any major shots. Wong was able to score two KO victories in the three fights, Joel Vega TKO (Head Kick) and Thomas Anderson KO (Punch).

Even though his opponents were all very good fighters, Wong has never faced an opponent that matches up against him so well. Every fight in his career Wong has had the lower skills in two of the major fighting styles used in KT fighting. Vega and Anderson had the Boxing and Wrestling over him. While, Pecker had both Muay Thai and Boxing. Suzuki comes into the fight with better Boxing skills and better wrestling. But, only ever so slightly. And Wong will have the slight edge in Muay Thai.

I really can't see this fight going any differently. As Wong sho

Massimo Benvenuti Interview

Fighter profile of Massimo Benvenuti by Callum McGregor

Interviewed by Jim What.

What: I'm sitting here with Massimo Benvenuti ahead of his Middleweight Championship fight with Arnavut Sevket on May 22nd. Massimo, you are currently the only man in Highland Games history to hold a title more than once. What would it mean to you to take that belt home for a third time?

Benvenuti: It would be awesome, and it would confirm to the fans that I'm the GOAT of the most competitive division in Highland Games history. You know it's true, this division has proven to be a fucking shark tank!. That being said, I'm 1-1 against the current champion Sevket, so I feel like I have definitely a good shot at taking the belt home

What: Out of all of the competitors you've faced, including those you've taken on multiple times, who would you say your favourite opponent has been? Who was the biggest rival that you're most proud to have shared your history with?

Benvenuti: Grant Morrison fo
