Event Review: VCC 19 - 135 Division Opening
Gods Fight Club
2015-06-20, Sydney, The Underground - Sydney
Attendance:665, Event Rating:55

VCC 19's main event saw two well matched fighters battle it out for the vacant 205lbs, Light Heavyweight Championship.

Both Solomon and Shalit entered the fight with untarnished records, with Solomon sitting on a record of 4-0 and Shalit 3-0, respectively. Solomon being on paper the weaker of the two fighters, was hoping to avoid Shalit's powerful striking and have this scrap on the floor where he would be able to utilise his dominant BJJ.

The first (and only round) was hard fought, moving fluidly between striking and grappling position. Shalit the busier fight

Louis Gordon Interview

Fighter profile of Louis Gordon by Callum McGregor

Interviewed by Jim What.

What: Today I'm sitting down with one of the competitors at Highland Games 77, Louis Gordon. How are things

Louis? I think first we'll talk about your Highland Games career to this point. It started off rather unimpressive with you going 0-3. Since then, you've brought two back against medium competition. How do you feel things have went for you so far in comparison to how you hoped they would?

Gordon: Thanks for having me today. Things are going good I'm healthy physically and mentally so I'm ready to rock at HG77. Yea I have to say I am pretty disappointed in how I made my debut with the organization those two KO defeats hurt my confidence and the submission loss wasn't as tough to take since I'm not a ground guy but to drop my first three fights in the organization I'm just thankful you kept me around to say the least.

I was expecting to come in and be right up ther

Harvey Danger Interview

Fighter profile of Harvey Danger by Callum McGregor

 Interviewed by Jim What.

What: I'm glad to welcome Harvey Danger at the table so we can discuss his Highland Challengers
debut on Sunday night.

You're coming off of two solid wins, the last of which being a spectacular head kick knockout.
What kind of confidence will you be bringing into the cage with you when you take on

Nicklas Lidstrom?

Danger: I'm extremely confident, to the point I feel bad for my opponent.
I've knocked out

Who's Next?

Fighter profile of King Wong by Dale Saw

King Wong, The Islands #1 P4P KT fighter, has a record of 4-0 and is wondering, Who's Next? He has yet to be offered a fight. Things are looking good for King Wong.

There are a few possible opponents Pride might offer him. First off there is the ever popular "Woody" Wood Pecker. But, Wong hold a victory over Pecker and he has a fight currently scheduled against "Mad" Mads Schulz. So Wood's chances are slim.

Then there is the winner of Reggie "Hammer" Biggs Vs. Spod Holdah. Both fighters are 2-0 and they both have beaten a fighter that Wong has also beat.

Reggie beat Joel Vega and Spod beat Wood Pecker. Making the winner the most likely candidate.

Oh, and it is worthy of note to place in here that Edward "Hench" Bravie also 4-0 and at the top of the 265 division was matched up against Harry Gash, to most suited candidate in his division, for a shot at becoming the Pride KT Heavyweight Champion of the World.

So, that brings on t

KT Phenom strikes MMA career with UNFC Tokyo

Fighter profile of Arunas Samusiovas by Adam Leigh

Arunas Samusiovas had 10 TKO’s from 12 wins in 14 KT bout appearances before turning his attention to MMA. Even with such undeniably impressive stats to accompany his status as the #1 ranked KT middleweight and #7 ranked KT fighter overall, Samusiovas takes a modest approach when talking about his time in the sport.

“I would hardly name my run in KT as ‘domination’. There was a lot of close fights, real brawls with tough guys like Halfdan Lodbrok, Yvgeny Molotov, JT Redman. I just were the luckier man.”

Luck or not, it isn’t hard to see the humble nature of the former EFFA Middleweight champion whom retired from the sport with the belt still around his waist after 7 successful straight title defences.

The Lithuanian has since become one of UNFC Tokyo’s hottest prospects. His debut MMA fight ended in typical fashion for the world renowned striker, halting Nich DiM’s night prematurely at 02:15 of th

Author:

Rivalry isn’t hate, it is a partnership in disguise. If you want to give it your all and be your best, you need a rival. Without one you wouldn’t be your best, you wouldn’t give it your all

Well hello hello fans and fanatics of Ring of Violence. I hope you enjoy it, because ROV 35: Bad Blood is going to be a bloody one for all you guys. I, as usual, am extremely excited for this one. But what makes me more excited than I’ve been in the past is that the two title fights really do feature fighters who have bad blood with each other, hence the name of the event. There is nothing better than seeing two people talk trash (for the most part, not all of them are speaking) and then get in the ring and go to war. The Kazan Sambo Center will most likely be sold out at 7,708 in this one. If you’re as excited as me, check out this preview, but not before you go check out the amazing merchandise at //buriedALIVE// Fight Gear.

GAMMA Kids NY Weekly Report

GAMMA Rising Stars (ID 290K+), Fight Organization, New York
Company profile by Andy McKenzie

Saturday 20th June 15 saw fight fans in New York take their seats once again in The Underground, New York, filling the arena of 1000 to the brim once again to be entertained with 10 fights on the card from GAMMA Kids NY, where 20 fighters put everything on the line. Just short of $115,000 was paid to the best prospects New York has to offer, fighting for their place in the MMA history books with the ultimate goal of getting promoted up to GAMMA.

The headline for this event was a Welterweight battle and the first title defence in GKNY history where Lao Shin successfully defended his 170lbs GKNY title again Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker heroically stepped in and grabbed his chance to challenge for the title after original opponent Archie Nelson dropped out of the matchup to try and get a slot in the TWGC.

The 26 year old native of Hilo tried to use his wrestling to try and neutralise the accurate striking of Shin and didn't even throw a punch, but through determination managed to get the champ on the ground, although only once out of six attempts. Once
