Editorial by Los Angeles CA. Another 3 wins for Blackwater management.
In a spectacular fight against an MMA knock out artist know for his power, Rico Garza, Taylor Smith pulled out an awesome win with his beautiful BJJ artwork and surgical ground and pound. This kid is relentless!!! This fight was a true work of art. Wonderful!!!
I'm so happy to have seen this fight and Smith's victory via (RNC) - after 2:20 of round 1, BOOOOOM, BOOOOOOOM!!!
This was such a beautiful painting of BJJ skill, thanks Taylor !!!!
A true tactician he combined BJJ with well placed G&P the young man is awesome to watch..
Post-fight Taylor commented, "I'm so pleased with my self with this win, our gameplan went so well, great work on my team and manager, cheers for everything. Also want to thank my sponsor UFG Untouchable Fight Gear, and Blitzkrieg Formula 5000 thanks for their support". Taylor was all smiles, great great work mate!!!!
In the second fight of the evening Omar Torres grappled his way to a submission win against BJJ blue belt Derrick Silva after 4:36 of round 1, via Submission (Armbar) BOOOOOOOM!!!
The fight was a BJJ love fest with the two fighters showing their skillz!!!!
At first it seemed even but after a few minutes the more superior fighter was obvious. It was such a chess game for the first 3 minutes, then the true master showed himself. Omar's game started to take over and break Silva's spirit and like a volcano Omar just exploded with an armbar, BOOOOM!!!!! Not to take anything away from Derrick Silva who himself is a master of the BJJ game.
Omar commented, " Thanks, thank you. I'm so happy with this win cont... |

Welcome back sugar plums, K-Rad here to look back on what was an amazing event in Amsterdam over the weekend. As per usual OverComing matched 20 of the finest up and coming fighters in Europe to sell out Hyashi's Lounge and crank out another impressive and hugely entertaining event. We saw plenty of early finishes during the night and a title fight to contest the open weight championship so let's boogie on town and have a look at who did what to who, using what, when and with how much lubricant. If you're allegric to latex then skip the following and go directly to the official OC twitter @JakubWest.
Chris McGrady vs. Jan "Hammer" Nowak
Middleweight
I told you. Didn't I? That's right, I did. Nowak's lack of self confidence was his undoing tonight as McGrady did well to avoid being taken down or clinched early on in the bout and countering with his own clinch work that allowed him to control the action well. cont... |

At only 20 years old, Jones is one of the most intriguing young fighters out there. His next fight is scheduled to be against Miguel Berrao at NAF 26: Bellringer vs. McLeod. Before beginning his MMA career, Jones was a stand-out high school wrestler and state champion. I sat down with Jones to learn that not only is he a talented fighter, but a pretty funny dude as well.
Q: Mentally, what was it like jumping from the RHT MMA to the NAF?
A: It was a big jump, mentally. I try to keep my mind clear as far as trying to put people on a pedestal just because they have a big name. So, I guess the only real big difference was the level of publicity and the number of people who knew what was going on. As far as being nervous, I wasn’t really nervous to jump up into such a big stage. Everyone is the same, we all put our pants on the same in the morning and everyone can be beat.
Q: If you could fight anybody, who would it be? Who is your dream opponent?
A: I never call opponents out. I just believe that whoever Kain Lock finds me to fight, that guy will be my destiny. That’s the guy that I’ll be obsessed with for weeks leading up to the fight. As far as calling out any specific person, whoever is going to push me, whoever is better than me, is who I’d like to fight.
Q: What decided to make you an MMA fighter?
A: I did college athletics. I was a wrestler in college. You know, nothing lasts forever and once wrestling was over for me, MMA was the next closest thing, the next best thing. I kind of felt empty inside, you know being an MMA fighter helped fill the void. I was working at the same time and it was just perfect for me.
Q: What’s your biggest dream?
A: To be a champion. A true champion. Defend it as many times as I can. And be done with the sport with a good head on my shoulders. Not take too many hits throughout my career. Then I want to open up a school and use this gift that God gave me to live an easy and fun life.
Q: What is something that people don’t know about you?
A: I’m a video game freak. I love video games. It keeps me out of trouble and keeps cont...

Super Heavyweight: "The Red Bull Cola" Jonathan Williams (12-10) vs Clay Thomas (3-0)
A card as epic at this one needs to kick off in style and these two behemoths promise to the deliver. Williams and Thomas only have forward gear and go for the jugular like men possessed. Both love to come forward and tie up but not to hang heavy and drag things out but to smash their opponent mercilessly. Williams loves to punch the head and body in the clinch, utilisng big upeprcuts - just ask Gene Carano. Thomas is the mroe versatile often scoring the trip takedown. Once down he is just as aggressive however, dropping bad intentions and submission hunting. Neither will want to give an inch when they inevitably end up in a clinch war here and that makes for and exciting battle of pure fight finishers.
Prediction: After last weeks spectacular failures at predicting fights I'm not even going to try here but it is going to be a blast from start to finish, and it will finish impressively.
Heavyweight: "The Freight Train" Cain Colbert (18-9) vs Optimus Prime (6-4)
Whilst it may be a little early to say that Cain Colbert is back to his best he did look like a vastly improved version of himself than the one who dropped 4 straight when he took out Robert Baratheon in the very first round. Known for his fight ending knees and crippling power shots Colbert is still much further down the divisional cont... |
