OverComing 14: Schindler vs Cox! REVIEW

Event Review: O14: Schindler vs Cox
Overcoming (ID 155k+)
2012-04-15, Amsterdam, The Beer Garden
Attendance:5,047, Event Rating:112
Author:K Rad

What a fantastic night of action we saw in Amsterdam this weekend as Overcoming put on their 14th weekly main event.  Over 5000 fans rocked into the Beer Garden to cheer on 20 fighters in 10 fights, 8 of which didn't make it past the 1st round thanks to some high aggression and brutal finished from those involved.  There were no titles on the line tonight but that didn't stop a great back-and-forwards of smack talk between the current lightweight champion, Magnifico and his last challenger, Schindler, as the latter looks to stake his claim for a rematch.  Magnifico didn't seem to fussed when he replied to Schindler's statement that, "I got business to take care of tomorrow (OC14). But after that I am going to shut your mouth" and if you want to know how Schindler's business taking care of went you'll need to come with me, K-Rad, as I give you the rundown of the top 5 fights on the card.  Alternatively, you can hike up your skirt and go straight to the official OC twitter @JakubWest.

CCF 50: Grace vs. Signal! REVIEW

Event Review: CCF 50: Grace vs. Signal
Cornell Cage Fighting
2012-04-15, Los Angeles, Hyashi's Lounge - Los Angeles
Attendance:1,949, Event Rating:161
Author:K Rad

Greetings Cornellians and groupies of!  K-Rad here unleash the review of another brilliant Cornell Cage Fighting weekly main event, our half century as it was.  50 main CCF events after the dreams of a humble cage cleaner of the local zoo came a reality when Tommy Cornell created his masterpiece, his enduring testament and legacy: CCF.  After beginning with a handful of fighters competing in the panda's enclosure whenver they were sent back to China for their annual medicals, CCF has grown to be one of the largest and most active organisations in the world and is routinely seeing huge event ratings and impressive attendances for all of its (often 3 weekly!) events.  Despite the man, nay, the legend himself being absent of late due to a nasty bout of testicular elephantitis, Tommy Cornell is nevertheless greatly impressed with the calibre of all of his fighters and the passion they show in the ring.  Today we look at the 50th event, Grace vs. Signal.  Nearly 2000 outrageously good looking CCF fans, as they all are, turned out at Hyashi's Lounge to watch 20 of the best go toe to toe.  There was a plethora of knock outs on display and if you follow me down I shall give you the rundown of the top 5 fights on the card:

Rise To Glory Season 2!!!

Editorial by

Last year us at UPG:Tokyo held a very successful creation tournament Rise To Glory but this year we are changing the game, as for season 2 we are going against the usual format. As my problem with a lot of tournaments is that the people don't get to take part. Not this year though as this year though, as their will be no coaches and THE PEOPLE DECIDE WHO FIGHTS. When fight time comes we will open a poll where people can vote the matchup, then after the matchup people can vote on the OTN awards. Then also we will select a person who voted every week to receive a cash prize.

Let’s not forget about the fighters though, you guys will be split up into two teams (Green and Gold teams you can make team names though) each with their own custom jersey. The weight classes this year will be Heavyweight and Welterweight as their will be 8 of each then from their you guys will be split to teams. You guys get to train at one of the best gyms in Tokyo at Samurai Kush Co

This week at Blackwater  New fight center = great fights ...

After the recent opening of our flagship scientific fight training facility The Wasps Nest ( 2341) fighters have started getting comfortable with their training and scientific approach the wasps nest contributes to the fighters skills. We have had several fighters fly a distance just to be apart of our training center.

A brief statement by Blackwaters Jason de Rothschild - “ We are having a good time here at our new home - The Wasps Nest, the guys are are into training hard and approaching their fights with our special methods ” -  “ we would also like to give a lot of thanks to Lyle Humphreys (33988) who help us in this venture, Thanks Lyle”.

Aside from the successful opening, the gym has also added an elite coach to train the fighters to reach their full potentials.  Great news from the people of Blackwater & The Wasps Nest ( 2341 ).

Dinkin is a mammoth of a openweight fighter standing at 200 cm and weighing in at a heft 300 pounds! In addition to his sensational boxing, Dinkin has strong muay thai, superb wrestling and a bjj purple belt. Dinkin definitely has an edge in power and chin wise the fighters are equal. Toeson is the better all around striker and barring Dinkin turning it into a slug fest, Toeson will win this one.

Sitdown with Team Funkyama Young Gun "Aoki Aoki "

Fighter profile of Aoki Aoki by War Machine

As turn up to the Team Funkyama gym in Central London  i'm surprised to see just 10 fighters in this Pristine gym.

i grab Aoki this morning before his Muay Thai session and we grab 5minutes together.

Reporter: hi Aoki, how's training coming along since you went pro?

Aoki Aoki: Training is going well, the coaches say I'm not the fastest of learners but that doesn't matter as they say I have potential. I'm currently training my Muay Thai. I know how to land a knee bar, get a rear naked and snap on an arm bar but I want to kick people, I want to cut people in the clinch. That's what we are working on now.

R: Your next fight is against an older fighter, are you worried he may be too much for you this early in your career?

AA: no, I asked for this fight and got it. I want to test myself on the ground against a brown belt!

R: where do you see yourself in 6 months?

AA: black belt, and an acco
