HWP251: Breaker vs. Hogan! PREVIEW

Event Preview: HWP251: Breaker def HW Title!
Las Vegas Prizefighting
2012-04-25, Las Vegas, MMA Grand
Author:K Rad

Welcome, welcome one and all to the 251st HEAVYWEIGHT PRIZE FIGHTING spectacle coming to you live from Vegas. Another big week of big boys and big hits is anticipated from MMA Grand where over 17000 people will be in attendance to watch an event that comes around just far too infrequently as far as I am concerned: THE title defense. In an organisation that only has 2 weight divisions, heavy and superheavy, talking about THE title is like talking about the holy grail. When we're talking about a title bout between the current heavy and superheavyweight champions, the former to defend his belt, the latter to consolidate both titles, well now we're talking about something even greater, something more legendary, something akin to managing to mount Jessica Alba from behind in a room full of mirrors whilst you're holding a camcorder in one hand and pulling her hair with the other. You know what I mean. Let's take a look at the top 4 fights of the night:

Fedor A million ankle vs. Dante Fertit

A man who seems to be fighting every week, Ankle, is taking on a dangerous opponent, Fertit, who is looking to extend his 5 fight win streak out to 6. When it comes to the striking aspects of this fight, Ankle is the bette

What Miller lacks in skill, he more then makes up for in raw power. With a professional record of 1-1, Miller will be looking lock up his second submission. Standing across from Miller we have Double "Cheese" Burger, a boxer with some slick submission skills and a few extra tires around his waist! Expect to see a great fight between these 2 giants as they are both well rounded fighters, but it will most likely end in a submission.

Editorial by

18/04/12 - This week at Blackwater New fight center = great fights ... Let get it started !!!

After the recent opening of our flagship scientific fight training facility The Wasp's Nest ( 2341) fighters have started getting comfortable with their training and scientific approach the Wasp's Nest contributes to the fighters skills. We have had several fighters fly a distance just to be apart of our training center. A brief statement by Blackwater's Jason de Rothschild - “ We are having a good time here at our new home - The Wasp's Nest, the guys are are into training hard and approaching their fights with our special methods ” - “ we would also like to give a lot of thanks to Lyle Humphreys (33988) who help us in this venture, Thanks Lyle”.

Aside from the successful opening, the gym has also added an elite coach to train the fighters to reach their full potentials. Great news from the people of Blackwater & The Wasp's Nest ( 2341 ). The week also had a floury of won

Lightning Strikes

Fighter profile of Jason Brooks by Ceasar Tomson

Here I am at Mann’s Chinese theater in Hollywood California waiting to talk with Light Heavyweight Champion of Jack of Clubs Jason Lightning Brooks. I can see him standing across the way measuring his foot next to John Wayne. Mr. Brooks looks good in his three piece suit with the JOC title around his waist.

Reporter: Jason how is your day going?
J. Brooks: You know it used to be a humbling experience walking through this place, looking at the mark these great people have left on the world. Now I look at them and realize that these people will never be able to do what I have done. I took my opponent at Crowning of Champions to the mountain top and pushed him off to claim the 205 pound title. Can even the duke say he’s done that, NO!

Reporter: So what do you think of the road that has lead you to this point.
J. Brooks: I don’t know what to think sometimes, I had a shot early in my career with Hypnotic and for Five rounds I threw everything I had at Cyran and he out pointed me. It was a hard pill to swallow, in my head I was the Champion but I left it in the judges hands. After that I practiced to be able to out point someone if it came to that again. I won some and I loss some but I can say I have never been knocked out and I have taken some shots I’ll tell you.

Reporter: You left Hypnotic can you tell us why?
J. Brooks: Money and Fame! T

Dunham vs Mendes

Event Review: xXx 31
xXx - Amsterdam
2012-04-20, Amsterdam, Hayashi's Lounge - Amsterdam
Attendance:2,000, Event Rating:165
Author:Leroy Guns

This fight has been long awaited by supporters of both fighters.  Dunham was the the light weight champion and defeated the last attempt to take his title.

Both fighters went into the fight with 14 wins, both have obtained a brown belt in BJJ, Amir Dunham has natural KO power and Jesus Mendes has a really good MT kick technique.  This fight was set up to be a really entertaining event with Mendes having stated prior to the fight that he had fought Dunham over ten years ago in Egypt, years ago during an amature competition.  Apparently the fighters have remained in contact and are really good freinds, although it looked lie there was no love lost in this fight.

Fight Review:

Dunham set his stall out straight away in the fight and wasted his energy with three failed takedowns.  Mendes took advantage of this and hit in hard with some reatty good MT clinckwork, landing some winding knees to Dunham's chest.  Mendes continued to dominate in the clinch, striking mea

Today will see 3000 fans pack into Hard Knocks arena to watch both up and coming and established mixed martial artists get their fists in each other's faces. As a special treat we have the middleweight title on the line as Tolls looks to defend his title once more. Come with me, K-Rad, as we take baby steps through each of the fights on the card:

Brett Helix vs. Kiser "Death Scorpion" Sosa
Middleweight

Two new fellows look to offset disappointing starts to their professional careers with an opportunity, draw aside, to notch up their first ever professional victory. This should be an interesting bout as Helix has the wrestling to keep it standing and the boxing to knock Sosa out, the question will be whether or not he has the experience and the game plan to make it happen or

Cantrell Willis - the aftermath

Cantrell Willis the aftermath

At a breakfast interview the day after the much anticipated debut of Cantrell Willis in the Ring Wars platform, and after a disappointing loss, the fighter had this to say.

First of, I just wanted to say thanks for the interview.

Do you think you trained enough for the fight ?
Cantrell : I came into the fight well prepared for the match, me and my team at the Wasps Nest have really gotten ready for this first fight at Ring Wars. We worked on the game plan and to me it seemed we got it in the bag.

When you came out after the bell it seemed you had it under control right ?
Cantrell : Yeah you can watch the replay and we both came out guns drawn, I laid down 3 takedown attempts before i got him. He also was throwing heat but i was able to slip and slide around them.

What happened then?
Cantrell : Well, i went for a takedown, and he sprawled then as we straightened out he some how c
