CFC in Montreal Champions Spotlight. Wed, May 16th, 2012

Rafal Ulatowski - 145lbs

Ulatowski came to the CFC in early March boasting an impressive list of quality victims while living up to his raw potential and capturing fans around the world. His dominating debut earned him a title shot against the formidable Johnny Quid who proved to be a brutal test and possibly the toughest fight of his career. After edging out Quid and capturing the featherweight championship in a battle of the ages, Ulatowski defended his title once again in razor close fashion against Dominick Jaskson. There is a long line of hungry and blood thirsty sharks waiting to get there shot at the belt.. They will have to have effective patience, technique and luck in order to get past the kickboxing tank Ulatowski.

Christian Slaughter - 155lbs

Sydney Fighter Still Waiting on Dream

Fighter profile of Zach Didion by Chad Didion

SYDNEY- It's Friday in Australia, another beautiful morning.  It's also another long day for Zach Didion starting with a 8 mile run through some of the roughest roads in Sydney.  "All I see is making it one day.  I work hard, I sweat, I have tears, but I know it will pay off one day...It's my dream."

Zach Didion was born May 1st, 1994 in Toledo Ohio.  He was active from the start, actually too active.  "I spent a lot of time in the principles office." Says a laughing Didion.  When Didion was 9 years old his parents got him started in Karate.  "We were at our wits end, he was just always fighting, being destructive, we wanted him to channel this emotion into something positive." says father Chad Didion.

By 11 Zach was winning tournaments in MMA around his home town.  Zachs tenacity, drive and aggression were noted by the local news paper and later picked up Muay Thai instructor Jason Houston.  Houston wanted to train Didion, but this meant moving to Sydney, all but up

Ontario FC fighter to be featured on Degrassi.

Editorial by Paul Huntington

Ontario Fight Club fighter Kermit “The Frog” Earlandson (2-2) will be featured in an upcoming episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation. Earlandson will play a fight promoter of an underground fight club in an issue that deals with the dangers of unregulated fighting, which has seen a surge in recent years among young people. The episode will also deal with the issue of testosterone replacement therapy. In a recent interview, Earlandson has said “I am super psyched about the opportunity to be on Degrassi. I was really surprised to learn that I am younger than half the cast of that show, I guess I just look mature for my age. I am hoping being on Degrassi will do for my career what it did for the rapper Drake’s career.” When asked if this will take away from his time training and if he was considering more acting roles, Earlandson said “Right now I am concentrating on fighting, but if the opportunity came, I would totally leave this to be an actor.” This will not be Earlandson’s first time acting, stating it has been a passion of his ever since he was young. Earlandson was in the drama club in high school and had a lead role in his school’s production of ‘Rent’ senior year. “Acting is a big part of the reason I got into fighting, I had to fight because the jocks were constantly picking on me for being involved in the drama club in high school, having a name like Kermit did not help the situation either”. Check your local listings for information about Kermit's upcoming tv debut.

BAD Judging for Cantrell Willis

Editorial by

Im not one to complain, but this is what i see. Some judging has come under a strange tone.

Such is the case was at
Event: RING WARS 20
Date:   May 12, 2012

when Cantrell Willis lost a controversial decision to Jonathan Sandelos that most everyone outside of the judges sitting ring side believed he won. Ring Wars turned their heads despite the loss being handed to him by the judges.

Cantrell - I was just surprised. I thought I definitely won that fight so till this day I don’t know how judges’ scoring ended up in that way, Willis spoke from The WASPS Nest (2341) from Vegas the next morning. I dont know, I could be wrong but everyone else saw the same thing I did. I mea we all did.

He followed with, Cantrell - There was no big turn around or change in that fight like, for example, (a knock down) but I believe, for anyone with the firm understanding of MMA it was just obvious who won that fight. Yes I go

A strange, strange morning at The WASPS NEST Gym

Editorial by

I had just gotten up out of bed, and was making coffee when i noticed a message was left on my answering machine. I had only gotten a few hours of sleep due to the long drive I had decided to take from LA to Vegas after I covered the International BJJ Expo. So. I leaned over to check. 3:58AM. Wow. Who would call me at that time? Its still early in the morning. About dawn and its still a bit dark as I reach towards the machine to play the message. - You have one new message, the machine notifies me in a robotic woman’s voice that reminds me of something from an old Sci-fi movie.

I wait second to see who it is and a low tired voice comes over the the air.
Dude, sorry to call you so early. Im just at the gym and wanted to see if you wanted to get some coffee in the morning? Ok let me know.

Huh... Jason De Rothschild is calling me at 3 in the morning somethings up. I take a sip of my cup of Java and it tasted like the beverage was brewed in a sock. Think I’ll pass of this one. And head over to The WASPS NEST gym to see whats up. The roads were empty at that time in the morning and the night still was staying around. I pulled into the lot in front of the gym and the only car was that of Jason’s. An old Land Rover Defender,  very beat up and with a faded white tone. It looked very out placed, in all this Vegas glamour and showiness. See thats what I like about this guy.

I enter the front door to a half lit gym with no one around, - Hello, jason you here ?
Jason: Yo. Im in my office.
Ok, I head over making my way through the darkness to find mr. De Rothschild sitting in his usual chair. He is clutching something in his hand. The light is not making make it out, but he motions to me to sit in front of him and I do. There is a waiting hot cup of his famous coffee waiting to be tasted.

He notices me looking at his hand, trying to figure out what that outline is.
Jason - Here, you ha

OverComing 19: Magnifico vs. Fry! PREVIEW

Event Preview: O19: Magnifico vs Fry
Overcoming (ID 155k+)
2012-05-20, Amsterdam, The Beer Garden
Author:K Rad

Ladies and gentlemen, I, K-Rad, would like to welcome you all back to Amsterdam after a turbulent few weeks which have seen trash talking reach an all time high, some ups and downs in form and a massive challenge thrown down by Aquino and accepted by Speed which is hopefully going to result in a superfight between the middle weight and super heavyweight champions before too long!  Tonight however, all eyes are on one of the original trouble starters, the one and only, "The Awesome One", Heraldo Magnifico as he looks to defend his lightweight title once more against the ever dangerous Jack Fry.  It's going to be a huge night with over 5000 fans flocking to The Beer Garden to watch it go down and you can bet Schindler will be there, plotting his revenge and working out exactly how he is going to start back on the road to lightweight title contention.  With 3 lightweight fights in the main card tonight will be a big chance for the competition to assess itself and for people to standup and say "I WANT TO BE THE CHAMPION" so come with me as we take a peek at the top 5 fights of the night:

Gnome Chomsky vs. Chris McGrady
Middleweight

Taking a break from the MIT (Middle Earth Institute of Technology) linguistics department, Chomsky is looking to improve his record against the undefeated-from-2 McGrady.  Chomsky will be relying on his ability to get this fight down and his submission speciality as McGrady is a fierce standup warrior who will be hoping he can keep on his feet long enough to turn out some lights.  The two men are more or less evenly sized, Chomsky has a touch more weight, McGrady a touch more height, both of these lead me to believe that McGrady may not have the ability to score a KO early enough in this fight to take a win so I am backing Chomsky to score a submission victory.

"Junior" Michal Bicki vs. Jerry "The Jump Rope" Cox
Lightweight

GAMMA#236 Jeremy Tonal v William Mackenzie King

Event Preview: GAMMA#236 Tonal v King
Global Association of MMA
2012-05-19, Las Vegas, Wandalay Bay
Author:Mentor Guru Corleone

GAMMA#236 will go down as probably the biggest GAMMA event in some time, if not ever as we have 2 HUGE fights on the main event and co-main event.

Jeremy Tonal finally has come back to GAMMA to defend his title after a long run globe trotting demolishing everyone in his path. He will come up against William Mackenzie King which in his own right has deserved this title shot after beating everyone not called Raz Matazz since 2011-07-03 when he last lost to Mariusz Pudzianowski while he was still in ACME. This is William's great moment as he has earned the "honor" to fight for the belt. There is no point in talking about who is the favorite for this fight, if William can come out and pull off a win, it will basically be the biggest in MMATycoon history for sure.   Top 265lbs GAMMA contender Beno Gruffo will be up against Golden Standard's Jobe Nkemakolam in the co-main event. Beno has been on a good run, recently beating Jaeger for the top contender fight. Jobe is the current GS top dog and this will be a major test for Beno. Beno Gruffo has yet to renew his contract, so this could be his last fight if nothing can be negotiated soon.
