(Super-heavyweight Division) Chandinho Silva (1-0) versus Brock Sagat (4-0)
(Preview)
Chandinho Silva, also known as “The Great White”, is a heavy handed brawler from South Africa. After moving to New York, Silva got involved in underground street fighting, where he earned a reputation for his stubbornness during fisticuffs.
Chandinho made his MMA debut at VTFC: Proving Grounds 2, facing off against 3-1 Joe Thurmond. Chandinho was considered, by many, to be a substantial underdog both due to his inexperience, and to how his style played into the hands of his opponent. Thurmond was a power puncher, so critics were doubtful that the bull headed Chandinho could overcome such a foe.
In the actual fight, Chandinho Silva made sport of the limited te cont...

Davie Brophy (9-4-0) vs Anton Newcombe (11-3-0) – 145lbs
Two fighters going opposite directions are meeting to start the main card off. Davie Brophy is one of the original Generation fighters, making his Generation debut at Generation #2. He won the 145lbs title at Generation #3, and defended it twice, but after moving up in weight to fight Mac Donalds, he lost his title. Because of that he's now on a two fight losing streak.
The allround fighter from Scotland will look to prove he's still relevant in the 145lbs divisoin.
His opponent, Anton Newcombe is on the upswing. The former champion of Elite Canadian Fighting Championship made his debut in losing fashion against Anton Altair, but after that managed to rack up two wins. A win over the former champion might put the American submission specialist in line a title shot. Brophy has a tricky groundgame though and cont... |

(Heavyweight Division, Championship bout) Ashley Harrington (29-14) versus Nickey Spillane(c) (22-6)
(Preview)
To call say that Ashley Harrington is a credible threat to the championship reign of Nickey Spillane would be a monumental understatement; Ashley Harrington is among the very best in the world at both striking on the feet, and grappling on the ground. In addition to a world class striking game, Ashley is an accomplished Jiu-Jitsu black belt with multiple grappling tournament victories to his credit.

Good evening lowlifes & degenerates! Welcome to Rio's one and only Openweight org. This will be our first official card with all non-tournament style matchups.
One thing you can expect still is that THEIR ARE NO WEIGHT CLASSES. Without further a do, here is a preview of the main card.
#12 Ante "U" Pavelic (9-5, UB Debut) v. Roy Du Toit (4-6, UB Debut)
The start of our main card undoubtedly is our biggest... literally. As 260lb Croatian Kickboxer Ante "U" Pavelic takes on 290lb South African wrestler Roy "The Hammer" Du Toit.
Pavelic, a veteran of the Rio MMA scene, has some excellent highlight reel KO'S under his belt, even one from a kickboxing bout, but tends to have trouble with wrestlers.
Fortunately, for Du Toit he himself is a wrestler and gained very good success early on in his career winning 4 in a row on the local QFC circuit.
Unfortunately, for Du Toit he is on an awful 6 fight losing streak and in his cont... |

Island Combat 2 Preview
The second event of the Island Combat organization, is sure to be another great show! It features twelve total fights, and two of those, are for titles.
The opening fight, is between Darko “Dark Side Cruz”, and Pipis “Teabag” Skatis. This fight is in the bantamweight division. Darko Cruz likes to go in with a lot of takedowns and get his opponent on the ground as quickly as possible. Darko also has outstanding takedown defense. But he seems to have trouble, if his opponent has a great standup game. Pipis on the other hand, has difficulty landing strikes in stand up, but seems to have at least decent striking defense. But he has shown, to catch his opponents off guard, so he should not be underestimated. In my opinion, the favorite is Darko Cruz, since he has stellar ground game, but he has to be wary when doing takedowns, so he does not get knocked out.
The second fight is in the featherweight division. It is featuring, Marius “The Roman” Gladius, and Patrick Krupok. Marius comes in with only one loss in hi cont... |
