Q1 - Welcome to the GAMMA 565 post fight press conference. Tonight we have had an excellent nights action at Wombley arena brought to you by Voodoo Nutrition. In the Welterweight division we saw Rufus McTearson confirm he is the true champ by successfully defending his belt against ex-champ and last year’s GAMMA fighter of the year Renan St Juste, proving that the last fight wasn't a fluke. Amongst the other fighters on the card we saw GAMMA veteran Willy Stoppers win his second fight in a row, keeping his unbeaten record in the division.
Willy tonight you went the distance against tough opponent Hektor Troy, how do you feel the fight went?
A1 - It was tougher than I expected for sure. I cut him early on, I know Hecktor is prone to cutting and my game plan was to tear him to shreds in the clinch once he started bleeding, but he was a lot better defensively than I gave him credit for. I know he’s got a decent chin, so wasn't expecting to KO him, but was hoping I could stop it through cuts early on. I am happy to get the win though and with my performance overall.
Q2 - You have recently been taken on by new management with Andy McKenzie after Mentor Corleone dropped you. How have you cont...
Island Combat Five Preview
Things are continuing to stay interesting with our fifth event for Island Combat, Island Combat Five! Our last three fights of this card are all title bouts.
The opening fight is in the Super Heavyweight division featuring Ben “Big Bomber” Jones and Kyle “H-Bomb” Harris. Ben comes in with a three win streak out of his three fight career. Ben will try for many clinches, hoping to get you against the cage. Jones also likes to go for takedowns after using his clinch. But Jones also can land powerful and accurate strikes from striking distance. Kyle come sin with an 4 losing streak which is never good for somebody’s morale. Most of his losses happened in the first round. He has an problem with getting controlled while his opponent shoots for an clinch. He also needs some work on his takedown defense. So this is why in my professional opinion the favorite is Ben Jones since he has an game plan that works against Kyle’s cont...

Before the new organization “Battlezone Fighting Championships” kicks off their first event on Sunday, June 26th, let’s take a look at the matchups going down that night.
Middleweight: BJ “The Prodigy” Penn (4-0-0) vs. Chris “CJ” Johnson (0-1-0)
Penn comes into this fight a clear favorite, having won 3 out of his last 4 fights by a prompt Round 1 TKO. Though he mainly focuses on having a superb stand-up game with his Muay Thai expertise, he’s no slouch when it comes to wrestling. Johnson, on the other hand, is up for a tight fight. After coming back from an early round 1 TKO, he’ll need to be able to take Penn down to the ground for a chance of success. Will Johnson be down for the count, or will Penn find himself tapping out for his first loss?
