Paddy's debut: review

Fighter profile of Paddy Mcgillicutty by Bjorn O'Donnel

Mcgillicutty Defeats Beaudrie via Submission (Guillotine)

Beau Hogan: Paddy, first let me say I’m sorry for doubting you, your first night in the ring and this was easily one of the most entertaining fights of the night. With such expert movements in the clinch and then a few shots to soften Beaudrie up followed by that expert display not only pulling guard but just locking in that submission and putting Beaudrie down just past the halfway mark. Clearly this is a fighter to keep a look out for and I’m eating crow on my earlier remarks.

CALIFORNIA MMA (360+)
2020-07-18, Los Angeles, The Underground - Los Angeles
Attendance:748, Event Rating:73
Author:Hassan Jassan

Last night CMMA 16 took place in Los Angeles at The Underground. I dont what it was but there was something in the air or water.....only 1 fight went to a decision, all other fights were 1st round finishes!

In the main event defending undefeated 145lbs champion Stefan de Vries took on undefeated Caio Peieira. Somebody's 0 had to go.... and it was Peieira's. Stefan de Vries came out countering with heavy shots like he always does and connected early to cut Caio. Peieira kept trying to connect, but he was countered 3 more times before a big right hand landed that had him hurt badly. De Vries kept punching him untill the ref had seen enough and saved Peieira for further damage. The fight lasted only 32 seconds and De Vries succesfully defended his belt again! Who can stop this man? Congratulations Stefan de Vries with another title defense!!

In the co-main event we had Oscar Aviles taking on Ryan Kelly. Oscar Aviles's was determined to get the fight to t

Bjorn Akerfeldt had a troubled youth winding up in and out of various juvenile offenders programs in his early teenage years. “I had a lot of messed up things going on that I’m not proud of, you know my dad wasn’t around much and so I felt I had to be the man as much as I could.” It was that mentality that quickly wound up with him in cuffs, after underage drinking and winding up in a fight at his local park in Karlstad Sweden he spent one year in Juvenile Detention picking up Boxing along the way, it was also here by chance he was taken in and adopted by Mattias Lundgren a former MMA fighter and current league owner before winning his first fight with an expert Submission.

“Mattias came and saw something in me and from day one I knew I would work to make him proud, I’ve been training hard every day and feel great to have the support behind me. My first fight I got Fighter of the Night but the league closed down so I

Attendance:2,000, Event Rating:77
Author:Hassan Jassan

Last sunday CMMA 15 Oliveira vs Adams took place at the Hayashi's Lounge in Los Angeles. 2 Title fights were on the line that evening, the 155lbs title and the 185lbs title! Here is a recap of the main fights.

Marlon Oliveira vs Jamal Adams was a rematch, they fought before with Marlon coming out victorious winning by kimura. Jamal Adams was determined this time to get the W and take the belt away from Marlon, and he did! Oliveira wanted to go to the ground where he thought to have the advantage. Adams stayed calm and didnt take much damage. He was able to reverse Oliveira a couple of times, and in the standup he got the better of Oliveira. His training paid off big time and went home with the belt and avenged his loss. Good job Jamal Adams and congratulations, you are the lightweight champ now! Well deserved!

In the co-main event the middleweight belt was on the line. We had Warren Barton taking on Barack Obaminator. Obaminator made quick work of Bar

This event truly showed the makings of the next great generation of MMA fighters with the likes of Rayleigh Dragon and Quinnen Williams taking home the Lightweight and Heavyweight Titles, alongside Kamalu Nokkau showing an expert KO, and Paddy Mcgillicutty showing one of the most amazing first round submissions in recent years.
