Connor MacManus enters this evening the much more seasoned fighter with a 12-6 fighters with a few Championship belts and successful defences in his past Orgs, and he's looking to earn a shot at a ToP Belt! Kyle Turris recently rode a four-fight into a recent loss to Mickey ONeil for the title! Kyle is no doubt looking to bounce back here tonight! Born in England, succesful businessman Kennedy was asked why he decided to start a MMA Organisation in Rio de Janeiro as opposed to his home country, he replied with "Os ingleses o inventaram, os brasileiros o aperfeiçoaram" explaining that much like Football (Soccer), although the English invented fighting, Brazilians perfected it. Kennedy cited his passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as another reason to start up in Brazil, stating that the talent pool of fighters in Brazil is something that couldnt be overlooked.

BFT 170 - Atsushi vs Bonifacio
Heavyweight - "Demolition Man" Alistar Overeem knocked out Shogun BDown with strikes at 4:19 in round 2.
The fight oepened up and BDown was in a rush to get into the clinch . He swang a little irrationally at first which left room for Overeem to land a great elbow that opens up a cut on BDown. From there, Overeem went full out with an onslaught of elbows. One of which opened up his cut a little more. And another one the rocked him towards the end of the round! Overeem was trying to finish things off, but BDown held on to make it to the second round. The second round started with BDown looking good at the distance. Overeem had no response for him.  EMMA 16 lived up to the hype and all of the 974 fans in attendance at The Undeground in Montreal got their money’s worth. It was a clinical striking display for the most part with 5 fights ending due to (T)KO. Let’s take a closer look at some of the evenings more important fights.
Rakewon the Chef def. Gerard Drogba
Raekwon the Chef successfully defended his belt against Gerard Drogba in impressive fashion. The Chef is now 5-0 as a professional and slowly but surely becoming one of EMMA’s biggest draws. The Chef was working Drogba over from the starting bell by throwing strikes, jumping into the clinch to wear him down, looking for takedowns and never letting Drogba get comfortable. By changing up the distance regularly The Chef was able to stifle Drogba’s offense.
