BFT - 158 Shields vs Hans III Review

Light Heavyweight - "Crazyhorse" Alex James submitted Tap Out with strikes at 1:39 in round 1.

What a way to start off the card. Tap Out dives in and takes things down to the ground quickly. The roll around breifly until James jumps up and grabs a takedown directly into mount. James uses this position to land some fantastic ground and pound until the ref jumps in and stops them.

Welterweight - Jan "Bleeder" Den Knieschijf Unanimous Decisions "Nom" Nom Nomm.

The fight starts off and right away Nomm cuts Jan with a nice combo. The two oblige to swinging until Den Knieschijf brings things into the clinch. From there Jan went on a rampage. He was destructive. Nomm was hurting. The second round picked up and and Jan used all the momentum from the last round to dominate this round as well. Once he got the clinch he just was throwing his knees and elbows like... well like any man would throw them. But he was striking like a swarm of bees: Fast and Furious. The final round looked similar. Nomm knew he was behind on the cards, and he was throwing to finish. He just wasn't able to do enough to finish things and Jan Den Knieschijf walked away with the well earned decision.

Lightweight - Victor Bonifacio Unanimous Decisions "The Natural Born Killer" Jason Pelaez.

Jason's main goal, bring the fight to the clinch. You do NOT want to stand infront of Bonifacio. And once he got there he was holding his own, but Bonifacio was taking things into his court. He stood his ground at a distance and was landing like there was no tomorrow. Bonifacio kept it up for the next two rounds, with Pealez spending less and less time in the clinch. It's actually astonishing how Pelaez was able to hold up. It really is a testament to his chin. But Bonifacio was extremely dominant and deserved the decision.

Co-Main - Heavyweight - Laguna Lunaris Knocked Out "Grizzly" Jacques Trudeau at 1:26 in round 1.

Laguna got his clinch on and he was completely on his game. He throws the elbows and he was home again. He got he opened up a huge gash on the face of Jacques. He was able take him outta there with a huge knee to the chin. Dominating performance by the former champ.

Main Event - Welterweight Title! - Super Hans submitted Jake Shields at 2:29 with a kimura in round 3 to become the new welterweight champion.

The first round saw Shields take the fight to the ground and try one or two... or eight submissions. The second round saw Hans take the reigns, kind of like a change of gaurd for the championship. He took fights down to the ground, and even though Shields tried to finish things, he was not able to do much about Super's offence. The final round saw the most stand-up action between the two and even there Super Hans looked like the super star. Once he had enough, he brought the fight to the ground and layed on a mean kimura. And after the first failed attempt at a title, Super Hans strikes his revenge and took the belt home. Congraulations!
