Alright people, I’ll answer your prayers and bring you another astonishing preview for HERO FC’s next wicked card – HERO Warfare 3. I don’t know about you, but the action put out by the HERO is really something I was starting to miss and what better way to scrap that feeling than a good selection of fights on this mid-week event. The place is the Hard Knocks arena in Helsinki and I don’t expect seeing empty seats. The headline will feature the former champ Albert Fish and highly revered grappler Rambo Kalervo Kukkonen going at it.
Preliminary fights:
“Iron Fist” Jason Rogers (4-2-0) v Frank "B.I." Whyte (2-7-0)
Heavyweight
This fight features two evenly matched fighters. Whyte is having really tough time recently and will be looking desperately for the win against Rogers, who won his last one via KO in just 19 seconds.
Eije "The Regulator" Blackbunr (3-0-0) v Artie Lange (5-5-0)
Bantamweight
Blackbunr is primarily a grappler, but Lange is no slouch on the ground either so I won’t be surprised if Eije tries to keep it standing in order to avoid Artie’s nasty submissions.
Terrell "Ball So Hard" Suggs (1-2-0) v Andrzej "Litwin" Rostowski (5-5-0)
Featherweight
Both guys have solid arguments on the ground, but Terrell Suggs can box which might prove to be the difference between those two.
Key Chain (4-3-0) v "The Little Princess" LeeAnne Marie (2-3-0)
Light heavyweight
This fight has all the potential of being a slugfest – both guys are strong strikers and aren’t that great on the ground so for those of you who enjoy stand up wars, this fight is a “must watch”.
Dae Jung Pak (6-5-0) v Arttu Attila (3-7-0)
Welterweight
Dae Jung Pak is one tough and very well rounded Korean and will look to go out for his 7th pro victory against Arttu Attila, who is a solid grappler and if I was Pak, I’d avoid any ground confrontations against that guy.
Main card:
Death Machine "Destruction" Cannon (4-2-0) v Meenny Vattalles (5-1-0)
Bantamweight
Those two guys will fight in a rematch because they don’t feel like they have settled the score in their first fight and I don’t think anyone will be upset about that fight because the first one was very entertaining.
"Killer Elite" Tex Morgan (4-7-0) v Trulove Sackett (5-5-0)
Featherweight
This fight is a prime example of why records don’t tell the whole story. Tex Morgan is extremely skilled and has always fought the best of the best, never taking a step down in competition and that’s why he doesn’t have that impressive record. Same can be said about Trulove Sackett who was taking on much larger guys in the lightweight divison and has dropped down to featherweight to continue fighting the top guys out there.
"The Head Hunter" Walter Sullivan (4-2-0) v Nyyrikki "Noutaja" Takaraivo (4-0-0)
Light heavyweight
Both Sullivan and Takaraivo are closing in to the title shot very fast and this fight will send someone back down the ladder and the winner might consider himself in title contention. Both are good strikers but Sullivan relies mainly on boxing, while Takraivo uses kicks in order to put away competition.
"The Son of God" Ingemar Anders (6-2-0) v Doug Camcho (7-1-0)
Lightweight. Co-main event.
Anders made some huge noise as soon as his stepped in the HERO cage and finished his first two opponents in the org within the first round. He will be looking to make those three against Doug Camacho, the former champion, who much like Ingemar, came by storm and took the lightweight title from Wai Man Li, only to lose it in his next fight. He is now facing a really tough challenge and a win would propel him back into the top echelon, but Anders’ boxing is really sensational and Doug’s striking abilites would be put to a serious test. He got outstruck by Luttinen so I guess Anders took some notes out of that fight and will try to exploit Camcho’s weaknesses.
"The Werewolf Of Wisteria" Albert Fish (9-2-0) v "Kuusamon Zorro" Rambo Kalervo Kukkonen (5-1-1)
Middleweight. Title fight. Main event!
In the main event of the night we have the former champion Albert Fish taking on Rambo Kalervo Kukkonen, who came in HERO FC with a lot of hype and high expectations, but unfortunately for him, he lost his debut fight. He has a chance to put all of that behind him and grap the most valuable victory for him up to date against one of the best guys on the roster – Albert Fish. Fish is not intending to concede a second consecutive loss though so Kukkonen won’t be having fun out there for sure. Fish basically cleared the division before losing the rematch he gave to Torrez and would like to get back to victory against a guy who’ll try to raise his stock off his name. Rambo Kukkonen possesses really slick grappling and his opponents have to consider that cuz going to the ground with him is a sure way to have a limb broken. The good thing about Albert is he has the stand up skills and KO power to send an elephant to sleep and every fight starts standing so Rambo has to be very smart in his takedown attempts unless he wants to go to lala land.
