Welcome to the Extreme Prefight Show with your favourite MMA Analyst Ryuuma Oshida Tonight We’ll be previewing Extreme MMA-5 New Years. We are starting the new year with an awesome line up of fights so let’s get into the action , all brought to you by Hellraiser Inc. and Extreme Mixed Martial Arts.

Fight 1 Coombes vs. Satriani

We start with a fight for relevance between two 135Lbers who are both winless. While one of these fighters will come out of the bout with a win, they’ll need to show better skills and the ability to last past the first round. Seriously, I just want to know if these guys are aware that there is more than one round in a fight. I am not picking a winner of this fight. Win or lose, they both need to show they deserve to be here.

Fight 2 Blue vs. Jones

This might be the best chance for blue to get his first win; his opponent is coming into the fight with cuts. I’m surprised Joneses coaching and support team are letting him fight in this condition. Blue might not have the stand-up skills but he’s got GNP and he needs to go after those cuts and open his opponent up. If this fight hits the ground I think it’s all over for jones. Blue by Sub

Fight 3 Harper vs. Milinkov

Both of these fighters had their Debut wins against James Blue. That aside Milinkov has a chance against a stronger opponent after his first win and will be looking to get to the mat quickly. Harper has the Standing advantage and should use it to continue undefeated if he can survive the ground game of Milinkov. These two up and comers look promising. Harper by TKO

Fight 4 Gesta vs. Dapalong

The 36 year old journeyman Gesta is making his debut in EMMA and is in the twilight of his career His superior BJJ skills mean that he is always dangerous and Dapalong will want to keep this off the floor at all costs. Dapalong has awesome power in those fists and can put any fighter’s lights out. If he can keep this standing he is going to do some real damage to the ageing frame of Gesta. Dapalong by KO

Fight 5 Bridge vs. Shark

Once again Muay Thai fighter Shark comes up against a Ground game specialist. This time it is the 3-0 Bridge. This has the potential to be a great fight between two differing styles. Both fighters are undefeated and have finished all their fights in the first round so it could all be over quickly. Shark’s competent wrestling might just be enough to keep this one standing. Shark by TKO

Fight 6 Danton vs. Ota

Two massive Muay Thai fighters clash in this open weight battle. The young kiwi Danton has impressed in his amateur career but steps into the ring against an experienced opponent who is coming off his first win in EMMA. Ota seems to be the more skilled fighter but only just, he will have to use all of his pro experience to beat this rookie. Ota by TKO

Fight 7 Reynolds vs. McBlargo

Reynolds is a strong and very talented BJJ expert but is giving away nearly 20 pounds against his larger rival. Mcblargo has an extensive and strong QFC career but couldn’t translate that to his first EMMA bout. Reynolds is the younger fighter and has the advantage in the clinch but this fight should hit the ground fast. I’ll give this one to the lighter Reynolds but it should be a great BJJ Bout. Reynolds by Sub

Fight 8 Becker vs. Langford

Another weight mismatch in the 8th fight of the night with Langford weighing in at less than 160lbs against an already strong opponent he’ll be hoping his superior skillset can overcome the difference. Becker will be looking to take advantage of his height and weight advantage to stand against a fighter who has already shown a weakness to striking against Dapalong in his last bout. Becker by TKO

And now, brought to you by Bet-X Independent Betting, The Bet-X Main Cards

Fight 9 Long vs. Mui for the 205lb Title

These two fighters are extremely well matched in their skillsets and both have winning records, this is a fight worthy of a title bout on paper let’s hope that shows in the octagon. Mui has sustained more losses but is capable of finishing his fights strong which might get him over the line against an opponent who is strong but has shown an inability to finish, that being said having 9 wins go to decision with no decision losses shoes that Long can take a lot of punishment. Mui by Decision

Fight 10 Seven vs. Chomsky

In the last fight of EMMA 5, the elite BJJ expert Chomsky takes on the well-rounded Seven in what should be an awesome start to the New Year, that’s if Chomsky makes it to Sydney in time. Chomsky has the ability to KO someone if he can’t get his ground game going and is probably the most dangerous fighter Seven has faced. Seven has 7 wins by TKO but might need to rethink his strategy against the Black Belt skills of Chomsky. The only area where Seven has shown more skill than his opponent is in the clinch. Seven’s tactics will have to be spot on for this one. Chomsky by Sub (if he turns up).

Make sure you’re watching EMMA 5’s lone title fight it should be a great one. This has been Ryuuma Oshida and the Extreme Prefight Show. I’ll see you for the Next EMMA event.
