On to the third Wednesday Warfare we go. The first two where great no doubt about it, and tonight there will be no difference. Ten action packed fights coming to you live from The Underground in Las Vegas Nevada. As always In The Red Sportsbooks will have odds on all the fights for your gambling pleasures and of course Meet the Future will have booths and tents all over the place, so you can pick up any of your Honor Fighting Championship merchandise. My advice to you all is to go get your tickets, head over to In The Red to make your bets and then jump online and grab some swag from Meet the Future so you can show your support for HFC on Wednesday night.
Preliminary Bout Number 1- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)
Zack "The Prodigal Son" Young (1-1) {0-1} versus Kortas Kozeris (5-1) {0-0}
The last time we seen Young in action he was getting knocked out. That is a usual thing, you go from basically a slight step up from amateur hour to fighting real professionals in an organization and you find out how much of a step up it is. Young has had plenty of time to get over his loss and do some training so I expect him to come out strong and looking to throw. Kozeris has an impressive record of five wins and only one loss. The Muay Thai striker has knocked out four of his six opponents in less than a minute. Kortas could end up getting the jitters though, as this will be his first fight in a real organization. I would pick Young in this one if it wasn’t for the chin of Kortas. I think this fight does go late into the first round though and your winner by knockout Kozeris.
Preliminary Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)
Vedran Milosevic (1-1) {1-1} versus Bj "The Prodigy" Penn (0-1) {0-1}
Milosevic has put his combination of boxing and wrestling to great use. In his two professional fights we have seen him work from range, clinch. And on the ground and instead of incorporating into each fight he should be utilizing one to counter his opponent game plan. Vedran should be going for every takedown Penn leaves open. Penn is a full on striker and he should stop at nothing to make sure this fight stays standing. He looked great in the clinch mixing up knees and elbows but as soon as he was pulled to the ground it was over. If he can keep this fight standing he will outclass Milosevic. I am worried that Milosevic will go to the clinch with Penn, but I am also confident he will get the fight to the ground, I have Milosevic winning via ground and pound in the second round.
Preliminary Bout Number 3- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)
Dmitry Belov (11-4) {1-1} versus Corner "Alley Cat" Bum (2-2) {1-2}
The fifteen fight veteran is a world class wrestler, but in his last fight we all got to see what happens when you don’t get the takedown that you desperately need. He was quickly stopped do to strikes and he does not want that to happen again. Belov needs to this fight down to the ground where he is comfortable, and work that ground and pound which has given him ten of his eleven wins. Alley Cat can fight standing up or he can wrestle. In his previous fights we had seen him mix it up with leaning a little more on the wrestling side of things. Corner will need to change up his game plan a bit because Belov is a lot better on the ground then he is. This is a hard fight to pick because it’s not just about skill and experience; a lot of fights come down to mental things such as confidence. I am going to pick Bum to win this fight be decision.
Preliminary Bout Number 4- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)
Chierehdk Cknlaskhr (4-2) {0-2} versus Steve "Cobra" Cox (2-0) {2-0}
Chierehdk looked very impressive in his QFC tournament. He was able to win all four fights three by submission and the final one by way of TKO. Since stepping up the competition he has fallen basically off the planet. Two strait loses in Honor Fighting Championship one by TKO do to a cut and the other by decision. Chierehdk desperately needs a win to get back on the right track. Steve Cox has the world in the palm of his hand. He is seventeen years old and is already a professional fighter. The kid is a dominate wrestler and he is currently two and zero. Cox knows how to use his wrestling in a point grappling manner and he has proved how good he can be winning both of his fights by decision while taking minimal damage. This will be the biggest challenge Cox has faced so far, as this will be the first ground fighter he has faced. I predict that the luck has run out for Cox, and I have Chierehdk winning by submission in the second round.
Preliminary Bout Number 5- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)
Josh Dominguez (13-15-1) {0-2} versus Dallas "Haneous" Riley (27-21) {1-0}
This matchup has gotten personal as Riley is claiming that Dominguez was ducking him in another company. Riley has more fights, a better record and he is currently on a better streak so Dominguez may have been ducking him, but there will be no running or ducking now. Dominguez is a boxer and a wrestler but he does have five wins by submission so his ground game is not horrible. Riley is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has eleven wins by way of submission. Riley does have the advantage on the ground while Dominguez is the better stand up fighter. I am not sure that either one of these guys will be able to finish the other so I am going to say this fight goes the distance. I see Dallas Riley getting his hand raised after three rounds of action in this fight.
Main Card Bout Number 1- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)
Bruce Lee (2-2) {1-2} versus Coors "Silver Bullet" Light (1-2-1) {0-2-1}
Honor Fighting Championship has not been kind to these fighters. In their combined six fights the have one win, four losses, and one draw. A win would benefit Lee more as he holds the only HFC win between the two, and it was in his last fight. Light I think needs a win to keep a job since a loss would drop his win percentage to an abysmal twenty percent. Lee just needs to keep the fight standing and he will be able to coast to a decision win, although it would be much better if he could get a knockout on his resume. Light will obviously want to wrestle Lee. If he can put Lee on his back he will be able to strike or look for a submission since Lee has no ground game. Lee has yet to be finished but his losses have been against point fighters. I think Light will surprise us and get the win via submission in the third round.
Main Card Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)
Felix "The KING" Cruz (3-4) {0-0} versus Larry "The Time Bomb" Tanaka (4-5) {0-0}
Both of these fighters have some experience but they will be making their Honor Fighting Championship debuts. This is a perfect match up for these guys because a win for either of them gets their record back to five hundred while giving them a debut win in Honor Fighting Championship. The winner of this fight could also spring board themselves into a fight with a top ten opponent and it could be a great push towards everyone’s ultimate goal of a championship. Cruz will be giving up some skill striking but it is not overwhelming. On the ground though he should dominate Tanaka and he should look for the take down whenever it becomes available. Tanaka needs to keep the fight standing but I don’t think he can get a finish over Cruz so he will need to fight for points. I think Cruz wins this fight by submission in the second round.
Main Card Bout Number 3- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)
Rickson Bravo (5-4) {0-0} versus "Cold Storm" Markus Vinicius (11-13) {0-1}
Bravo certainly did not have get a push over for his debut to Honor Fighting Championship. Vinicius is on a downfall losing his last five fights but that doesn’t mean he is no longer dangerous. Out of his eleven wins Markus has nine wins by way of knockout proving his hands are very dangerous. His chin does not look very strong though as he has lost ten fights by knockout including all five loses on this losing streak. He should not have to worry too much about his chin in this bout as Bravo is a proven submission artist. Every win in Bravo’s professional career has been by submission as he has perfected The Raven Guard which he also innovated. I think if Bravo can get the fight to the ground he should throw the book of submissions out the window as Vinicius has only been submitted twice. He should work the ground and pound and try to get the TKO or knockout since his chin has been proven weak. This should be a good fight and I see Rickson Bravo winning by TKO in the second round.
Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)
"The Viking" Agnar Gorm (6-2) {1-2} versus Reginald Leslie (4-1) {2-0}
Gorm is still trying to find himself in Honor Fighting Championship. He is one and two since signing his contract as he struggles with the tougher competition. He is a great wrestler and he loves the ground and pound. He can submit his opponents as well. The Viking also has good transitions and great submission defense, he is a total package on the ground. Gorm has been working on his stand up and the only thing I can think of that is causing his losses would be pressure. He is now fighting in front of a thousand plus fans while before he was lucky to have a hundred. If he wants to be successful here he will need to get over the nerves. Leslie has been on fire lately winning his last three fights. His last two wins where right here in HFC. He would love to continue on his winning ways, and to that he will need to stay off the mat with Gorm. A good mix of knees and head kicks with a few sparing leg kicks should keep The Viking away. I think Gorm can and should win this fight but he will need to wait for the perfect time to strike and gain the take down. I don’t see him getting the take down until the second round.
Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)
DeMario "McDojo Blackbelt" Williams (6-2) {1-0} versus Craig "Warrior" Wardlaw (2-2) {2-1}
Williams is on a three fight win streak and you can attribute that to his wrestling game. He has some of the best take downs in Honor Fighting Championship. Once on the ground Williams goes into beast mode with his accurate and deadly ground and pound. To make matters worse for his opponents Williams has never been finished. Both of his losses were by decision and one of them was a majority decision. Wardlaw is overmatched in every way in this fight. He is also a wrestler but he is not as good as Williams. Williams is also a better striker and he is also better in the Jiu Jitsu department. The only thing I can say Wardlaw should do is stay away from the clinch, and stuff as many take downs as he can. Work the body with punches and take Williams down whenever he can. After gaining a takedown I would stand right back up, because if Williams gets the sweep he will put Wardlaw to sleep. Warrior will need to use these tactics to win two rounds, and take this fight home with a decision win. Personally I do not see that happening, as I have Williams winning by TKO in the second round.
As you can see this event is lacking a title fight, but it is not lacking exciting fights or big time fights. I will once again be dropping a lot of money over at In The Red Sportsbook and I suggest you all do the same. If I would have bet the last card I would have made close to five thousand dollars. Go have fun and win some cash and I will see all of you at the review of Wednesday Warfare III!
