 Well we have made it to Honor 9 and it looks like we are not going anywhere for a long time. We made it to the top forty and then got pushed down a little bit. It’s time to get into the top forty after tonight and try to hold on to that forever. The events are getting better, the main events are getting closer, and overall HFC is evolving into a force to be reckoned with. Please be sure to check out one of the three book makers that will be hosting odds for the event. Also please drop by Meet the Future for all of your clothing needs.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Dario "All-in" Sakara (1-1) {0-0} versus James "The Snake" Chaney (13-14) {0-2}

This is a big challenge for Sakara as he has to take on an experienced veteran. He will need to pull out all stops as I am sure Chaney has seen just about everything. He might be able to keep up with Chaney on the ground and he will have the advantage in the standup so he needs to focus on turning this fight into a slugfest. Chaney has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so he will want this fight on the ground. If he can get the fight there it is not a sure fire win but he will be in the driver’s seat. This is a tough fight to pick since I think Sakara is the better fighter but Chaney has the experience. Think I will go with Sakara to win by TKO in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Dario "The Killer" Silva (3-3) {2-3} versus Gustavo Gracie (6-2) {3-0}

These two fighter are at much different periods in their careers. Silva is on a three fight losing streak while Gracie is on a three fight winning streak. Silva was three and o until a title shot sent him into a downward spiral. He needs a win here to get back on track. Gracie could be working his way up the chain and I am sure he would enjoy a title shot in the near future if he can extend this winning streak to five or six. If the fight stays standing I got Silva to win, but I don’t think it will stay standing so I am picking Gracie to win by submission in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Isaiah "Vanilla Gorilla" Ferguson (6-0) {0-0} versus Sun "Kakarot" Wukong (5-1) {3-0}

Both of these fighter are heading down the right track as they have both had six fights with a combined record of eleven and one. Ferguson is undefeated but he has yet to fight top competition. He has been riding on QFC fights since he started and tonight will be his first big test. I think the matchup for Wukong is a bad one, but with his experience he could easily win this fight. He just needs to come through with a good game plan and execute it. I am picking Wukong to win by TKO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Takahiro Jouda (6-4) {0-0} versus Nathan "Elbow" Summers (23-17-1) {0-1-0}

These two fighters are both on losing streaks currently. Jouda has not had a fight in HFC yet and he has lost his last two fights. He would love to get on the winning track in this one and he will need to do it by spending as much time on the ground that he can. Summers is a stand up fighter with a well-rounded ground game. He has over forty fights in his career but he is currently in the twilight being thirty four. He should look to keep this fight standing for as long as it takes to knock out Jouda. This is a difficult fight to pick betweent but I am going to pick Summers to win by TKO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Taylor "woob woob woob" Clark (26-17-1) {1-2} versus Jan David (31-17) {0-0}

A lot of experience to round out the preliminary bouts. Clark has had forty three fights in his career so far and twenty of those wins have come by decision. I think he will need to finish David if he gets a win in this one, as I just don’t see this fight going three rounds. David has had forty eight fights and he has thirteen wins by TKO. He should look to do as much damage while standing up in this one, but I think the ground and pound will be the way he can win this fight. I see David getting the fight down to the ground in the second round and getting the TKO.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

"Mangeur de bine" Adelard Desormeaux (15-17) {1-0} versus Artur "Iceman" Ross (12-5) {0-0}

Kicking the main card off we have a classic grappler versus striker bout. Desormeaux is the grappler but he does have Muay Thai skills and he can handle himself on the feet. With that being said he will need to get this fight to the ground to get the win. Ross can handle himself on the ground but he will dominate the striking part of this fight. Ross needs to work on his counter striking to get the win in this one. This will be another hard fight to pick a winner in but I will go with Ross winning by TKO in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

"Knifeman" Brett Riverboat (14-6) {0-0} versus "Wrecked" Stew Sauced (5-1) {3-0}

A few things about this fight, number one it should be a great one. Number two I love Stew Sauced and number three Riverboat is more than likely a little more skilled than Sauced. Even though Brett has had more fights and more years to train there is just something I love about Stew Sauced. I think Stew will win this fight but it will be extremely close. I think Stew Sauced will get the TKO win in the late part of round three while being down on points.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Welterweight Title Fight (170lbs)

Rock "Taijutsu" Lee (6-1) {5-1} versus "Veliki" Ljuti Hrcak (13-1) {2-1}

This looks to be a better fight on paper then I think it will actually be. It would seem that it was a good matchup but I think Lee is just more intelligent than Hrcak. Plus he is riding high from his title victory and defenses. Personally I think Lee will prevent any takedowns from Hrcak and then hammer away at him in the stand up. These two have had two common opponents and I think Lee fared better against both of them. I am not going to go out on a limb here and I will just pick Lee to successfully defend his title against Hrcak.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

"Uszol" Rafal Dabrowski (16-5) {0-0} versus "Al Capone" Vanden Plas (16-10) {0-1}

Dabrowski will be making his HFC debut but he is well known. He is a former champion at middleweight and light heavyweight. He is currently sixteen and five and in his sixteen wins he has proven that he is a well-rounded fighter. He has seven wins by TKO, four wins by submission, and five wins by decision. Plas has the same amount of wins but double the losses. Plas is also not as well rounded as Dabrowski and it shows in his wins. Out of his sixteen wins thirteen of them have come by way of TKO while the other three decisions. I think Dabrowski needs to get this fight to the ground since I don’t think he will be able to hang with Plas in the stand up. The way I see it is Dabrowski dominates the first round on the ground and then TKO’s Plas in the early stages of the second round.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

James "Java Man" Avalon (19-10) {0-1} versus Calvin Johnson (19-13) {0-0}

This is a great fight and most certainly should be the main event. Avalon is nineteen and ten with seven wins by TKO, six wins by submission, and six wins by decision. He can certainly fight standing up on down on the ground. I think it would be Avalon’s best interest to keep this fight standing. He could knockout Johnson if it stays standing. Johnson has a ground game but he is a striker at heart. Out of his nineteen wins sixteen of them have come by TKO. Now why would I say Avalon should stand up and strike with Johnson? Well its simple out of Johnson’s thirteen losses twelve of them have come by TKO. That is the reason I am picking Avalon to win by TKO in the second round.

Well there it is folks. Only a few more hours to get your bets down, but we do have several book makers and that should make it easier to get bets down. Also if you think something is a lock make sure to bet the fight at all three book makers. I will be back with the review of HFC 9 in the days after the event, and I will see all of you then.
