 Throwdown 13-PPV Preview
Continuing our series of evil guest writers, today's preview will be written by Your First Sexual Experience. Don't blink. This preview will be a quick one.
Hi, thanks for uhhh... lets get start... should I write this like a poem or umm? Oh, here we go I guess.
135 lbs
Miguel “Angel” Torres 16-7 vs Zarek "Diabel" Reschke 13-8-1
If Torres doesn't take this to the ground early this fight will be over quicker than me. Reschke should handle him on the feet.
Prediction: Reschke by (T)KO
205lbs
“The Hurricane” Rubin Carter 7-8 (1 NC) vs “Snake” Jake The 20-17-1 (1 NC)
Carter has the better boxing, but Jake The looks like he can hang on the feet and dominate on the ground.
Prediction: The by Decision
185lbs
“Mister” Tony Twister 16-15 vs Alexander “Silver” Serebryakov 5-0
Twister might be able to take down the young prodigy if he can keep it up... on the feet. Serebryakov will be looking for the takedown and the finish in any way he can manage it. Seeing if Serebryakov can stay undefeated is a reason to come early to this event.
Prediction: Serebryakov by Decision
135lbs
“The Kid” Joseph Sandoval 15-8 (1 NC) vs “Killer” Ichi Takeshi 9-4
Sandoval's defensive wrestling will be key to him lasting long enough to reach the finish he wants. He has the power to take down Takeshi, but Takeshi can do damage on the feet as well. If it goes to the ground, Takeshi could dominate.
Prediction: Sandoval by (T)KO
155lbs
Nycky Downtime 28-24-1 vs Kon Sai 10-7
Someone will be tapping out early when these two submission artists go at it. Someone could sneak a knockout either on the ground or the feet, but the smart money is on the submission. The more experienced Downtime might have a slight edge.
Prediction: Downtime by Submission
185lbs
John “Freight” Trane 9-5 vs “Johnny” John Kirby 22-14 (1 NC)
Trane has an obvious BJJ advantage if he can take the fight to the ground. Kirby will be looking to use his boxing to keep Trane at bay and ultimately earn the knockout. Some might call it an upset for Kirby to win, but...
Prediction: Kirby by (T)KO
185lbs
Damon “Pretzel” Pierce 30-18 vs “Hippo” Henry Ngo 20-16
This next TWGC... I mean mixed martial arts battle is between two BJJ stars. This will all come down to whichever guy makes the first mistake on the ground. The other guy will surely capitalize on the mishap.
Prediction: Pierce by Submission
170lbs CHAMPIONSHIP!
“Irish” Joseph Donelly 23-13 vs Vergil Blanco Rocha 16-9 (1 NC)
The champ looks like he is in for a tough defense of the title that looks undefendable. Can Donelly be the first hold onto this 170lb belt? Both of these guys will be going for the knockout. Due to the pattern I have to bet against the champ.
Prediction: Rocha by (T)KO
185lbs
“KO” Kazushi Sakuraba 18-2-2 vs “Rambo” Suporn Red Gym 28-19-1
This is the fourth battle of this war. Red Gym's best effort of the first three was a draw. If it goes to the ground Red Gym can win. Sakuraba likely wont let that happen long.
Prediction: Sakuraba by (T)KO
205lbs CHAMPIONSHIP!
Dan Brigglett 19-9 vs “Jack” John Kennedy 15-5 (1 NC)
If there are any three people who know about finishing early it's Brigglett, Kennedy and myself. Of our combined 35 victories there was only one decision and only one moment that has been stricken from the history books. This is the fight we all came here for. I suspect the champ can keep his streak alive with some accurate and heavy shots.
Prediction: Brigglett by (T)KO
Well guys, thanks for letting me in for a while and giving me this opportunity to write a preview for you. I love you all so much even if you would rather forget me and I just ha...
