HONOR FC 20 – Code of Honor

On the 14th of June, HONOR FC will host its 20th event as it rolls on into The Partisan which can hold 5250 fans. There will be a 145lbs title fight on the line and the main attraction will be a welterweight showdown between Joseph Donelly and Ziggy Cliff

"THE KING" Oliver Queen vs. Boris JorJovsky 145lbs

Queen brings an average record of 20-15 to this fight, he prefers the knockout as he has 13 wins via KO or TKO and has shown to be capable on the floor with 1 win via submission. He has shown to be deadly from the clinch position and shown to be good at generating power from short distances. JorJovsky, on the other hand is deadly on the floor, 12 wins from 14 from submissions. Its likely no secret what these men want to do, the question is who will be able to ‘impose their will’ on the other? They are evenly matched so it’s a toss up between them but my head tells me JorJovsky as Queen has been submitted a few time but JorJovsky has been susceptible to some power.

Prediction: JorJovsky via submission

Kshitij Singh Negi vs. Donovan "Ronin" Robertson 185lbs

Negi, is a man on the verge of depression. He must’ve been through a rough patch as he’s been found sobbing in the hotel he’s staying at and has not rested in over 2 weeks. On his day, he’s extremely powerful notching 10 wins via (T)KO from 13 and is extremely well versed in the clinch. Robertson, has shown to have an iffy chin with all losses coming from strikes but has a polished submission game that has led him to 8 wins from tap outs. On any other day I would pick Negi, but his depression issues and his energy levels will lead to another tap out win for “Ronin”.

Prediction: Robertson via submission

Sub Norris vs. "The Assassin Reborn" Darwin France 145lbs

Norris certainly lives upto his name as he is a black belt in BJJ and puts it to use in his fights as he has an impressive 17 submission victories. He has shown to falter against better grapplers and heavy handed punchers but on the most part he has a successful MMA career from his submissions. France, is also a black belt but with stronger wrestling skills which has led him to 16 submission victories and 7 decisions from his grappling. When its all said and done I think France will exploit Norris’ lack of defensive grappling skills and pick up another submission victory

Prediction: France via submission

Bruce "Mr.Jiu jitsu" Gracie vs. Tommy "The Terror" Cottero145lbs TITLE FIGHT

Having won the title in his last fight Gracie needs a dominant performance to show he truly is the best 145er in the HONOR division. He’s a submission specialist with 19 careers subs from 22 wins and it is pretty obvious what his gameplan is, drag you to the floor grab a hold of something and work his way towards a successful 1st title defence. However, against “The Terror” he will have on his hands a man with abnormal power for the 145 division and a man who has mastered the art of using his wrestling as a defensive measure. He’s getting up there in years so this may be one of his last chances to capture gold and it looks like he has the tools to do so.

Prediction: Cottero via (T)KO

"Irish" Joseph Donelly vs. "Rasta" Ziggy Cliff 170lbs

Donelly is a boxer first and foremost, he has power in his hands and the technique to land his punches he is a fine boxer and is riding a 5 fight win streak 3 by way of striking stoppage but this will be his first time fighting for HONOR. Cliff, is another man who uses his boxing tremendously and his counter wrestling is some of the best in Tycoon let alone HONOR. Now, with that said Cliff and Donelly are punchers, we could be in for a good ol’ brawl but with the power these men pack its only a matter of time before one of them is face first on the floor. Donelly has been stopped by strikes 4 times in his career and Cliff has been stopped twice but has shown the better chin so I suspect him to beat Donelly to the punch and finish this fight with a TKO

Prediction: Cliff via (T)KO

That will be all from me until next time
