Well folks HONOR FC 21 Relentless certainly lived up to the billing with some great fights, the fans certainly left impressed and I am certain our new partners at Just Fight Clothing were impressed as well; just a quick reminder that they are our new event partners and are offering sponsorship opportunities to our fighters. Please check out the store too support HONOR and all of our great fighters. This event had the perfect balance of dominating fights, huge upsets, and even some controversies in the judging.

Derec "The Smile" Negreanu (5-3-1) vs "The Swiss Superman" Claudio Castagnoli (0-2)

Well this fight didn't quite last as long as I thought it would, though the result was never really in question. Negreanu used his experience, aggressive style, and pure power to end this fight in just 16 seconds. A big setback for Castognoli but who knows? Maybe he can bounce back and be tougher from this in the future. Big losses have a way of motivating some guys that way.

Result: Negreanu Via KO Round 1 Prediction: Negreanu Via T(KO) Round 2

Nobuhiko "CIMA" Oshima (2-3) vs Hilio " Hangman" Gracie (15-7)

This fight really always came down to the superior experience and ground fighting ability of Gracie. He was able to take his opponent down early and after a failed Kimura attempt landed 7 consecutive ground strikes to stop his opponent in round 1 via ground and pound.

Result: Gracie via TKO Round 1 Prediction: Gracie via Sub Round 1

Tim Tupy (3-4) vs Chris "The Crippler" Coryatt (12-9)

Another stoppage early in the first here in the fight between Coryatt and Tupy. Chris was able to use his superior Muay Thai to clinch up and end his opponent after some nasty elbows and knees forced the ref to step in and stop the fight before it truly got nasty.

Result: Coryatt via TKO Round 1 Prediction: Coryatt via TKO Round 1

"The Muharib" Mohamed al Hadj (25-16) vs Kaito "Tsunami" Rin (22-9)

This was actually a fight that really disappointed me, neither fighter every really got active as each looked to counter and neither looked to open up a stand up war. I thought the power of al Hadj would make the difference but instead the quickness of Rin won out in the eyes of the judges despite al Hadj being the much busier fighter; not that that is saying much. Neither man performed too well and I hope that each learns to come out more aggressive in the future. Hats off to Rin though he took on a tough and powerful opponent and came out victorious. Not an easy task by any stretch.

Result: Rin via UD Prediction al Hadj via TKo round 1

Sub Norris (23-15) vs Jonathan "The Cheetah" Mvungi (9-10)

First things first Mvungi has earned a lot of respect within the division after this performance, he won the stand up battle throughout and even took the first round but eventually dropped the last two rounds against the more experienced and better grappling Norris. Mvungi actually fought off seven sub attempts to survive the fight and lost a close UD to a great finisher in Norris.

Result: Norris via UD Prediction: NOrris via Sub round 1

"Mangeur de bine" Adelard Desormeaux (19-20) vs "The Impaler" Vladimir Ignatov (9-3-1)

This was a ridiculous battle that really could have went either way. personally I would have judged the fight in favor of Desormeaux as he landed more takedowns and really controlled the fight on the ground, Ignatov did a good job of controlling position from his back and remaining dangerous throughout with sub attempts but I just don't agree with the thought that you can win a fight from your back.

Result: Ignatov via UD Prediction: Ignatov Via TKO Round 2

Augustus "Deadshot" Belmont (26-12) vs "Chairman" Mao Zedong (15-5)

This had stank up battle written all over it from the get go, neither man looked to take this to the ground as there was not one takedown attempt the entire fight. I had questioned the chin of Belmont and thought the Zedong would be able to put him away with big shots. Belmont however was able to use his speed to make Zedong miss and knocked his opponent out in the second round.

Result: Belmont via KO round 2 Prediction: Zedong KO round 1

Vinnie "Danger Zone" Jones (12-3) vs Riley Cooper (21-9)

This result absolutely blows my mind! Not because Jones was able to win, he is the Champ for a reason. But he fact that Cooper intentionally took this fight to the ground time and time again and put himself in the only position that Jones really posed a threat is just beyond me. Cooper entered this fight with an amazing stand up advantage and in each round immediately brought the fight to the mat and his horrible strategy eventually cost him as the champ locked in a deep triangle and forced Cooper to tap. Still a huge win for Jones and a great step forward toward greatness for our champ.

Result: Jones via Sub Round 2 Prediction: Cooper via TKO Round 3
