VCC 11 Preview
02 May 2015
The Underground - Sydney

Vanquish returns to the underground for this event after a wildly successful VCC 10 that saw the underdog Rhust capture the welterweight championship with an impressive display inside the cage, seeing himself rise to the top of the ranks inside Vanquish.
This weekend sees the return of the former light heavyweight champion Leigh Adams against one of the top contenders of the division in Kevin Garbutt, with the title now vacant after the champion quit the org, this could determine who gets a shot at the vacant strap next. The night also features a range of up and coming welterweights aswell as a much anticipated clash of heavyweights and two rookie middle weights will also collide.

Main Event
Leigh Adams v Kevin Garbutt

Leigh Adams
Record 6-1-0
Height 185cm
Weight 201 lbs
Age    25
Keys To Victory - Good chin, Unpredictable, Experienced

Kevin Garbutt
Record 3-1-0
Height 193cm
Weight 215 lbs
Age    19
Keys To Victory - Exceptional Wrestler, Solid chin, Dangerous ground game

The main event will see two of the organisations top light heavyweight collide in what will be a classic striker versus grappler scenario, the aggression of Leigh Adams will be interesting to see in action as it will leave him open to the dangerous wrestling of Garbutt, however Garbutt is not afraid to throw strikes on the feet despite his lesser ability in the striking department. Adams likes to take fights to the judges, with most of his wins going the distance, however it will be tough to keep this one on the feet for all 3 rounds, and if Garbutt gets Adams on his back, he might just pound this one out for the TKO finish.
Garbutt will come into this fight looking to throw quick aggressive strikes looking to set up the takedown, his finishing ability on the ground is almost unrivalled in the organisation and it might prove to be the downfall of the former champion looking to bounce back into contention, with his last 3 fights being wins Garbutt looks like a future champion of Vanquish, despite only being 19 years old. This matchup will be a defining moment in Garbutts career and if he captures the win, he will be well on his way to being the title holder.
