 VCC 19's main event saw two well matched fighters battle it out for the vacant 205lbs, Light Heavyweight Championship.
Both Solomon and Shalit entered the fight with untarnished records, with Solomon sitting on a record of 4-0 and Shalit 3-0, respectively. Solomon being on paper the weaker of the two fighters, was hoping to avoid Shalit's powerful striking and have this scrap on the floor where he would be able to utilise his dominant BJJ.
The first (and only round) was hard fought, moving fluidly between striking and grappling position. Shalit the busier fighter stood up, proved to be vulnerable to the takedown allowing Solomon to twice take him down on the counter. With the end o the first round drawing near (3 seconds away to be precise) Solomon slipped Shalit into a bout deciding Kimura. Claiming the title he so desperately craved, rewarded by the words 'AND NEW 205lbs Champion - Alfie 'No Deal' Solomon'.
Elsewhere in VCC 19, the organisations fresh faces in the Bantam weight decision vied it out to announce themselves as a contender for the vacant championship. Overall three fights from the 135 division graced the cage in this event.
First we saw Rogers, dominate Mitchum in a TKO victory. This was followed by an almost copycat result from Jababeka also taking out his opponent via TKO (strikes). Finally to add a bit of variation to the night, in our only decision finish Gamma Jack got the nod ahead of Green.
In other news from the night we saw a classy submission finish from Lombard, cementing his place amongst the top Vanquish middleweights.
And new heavyweight signing Hardenov burst onto the VCC scene with a decisive first round victory over previously unbeaten McShady.
