VCC 21
Main Event – Uso vs Texii
Uso entered the fight the more experienced fighter, with a total of twelve years on his adversary. Along with this age and wisdom came a very clear game plan; ‘GET TO THE GROUND AND STAY THERE’. Despite the predictability this is how the fight went, with Uso scoring a takedown in the opening seconds of round one, before attempting a plethora of submissions, unsuccessfully.
Again in the second round, Uso was able to perform and instantaneous takedown where he proceeded to unload a barrage of ground and pound on his younger, not so baby-faced, opponent. Before too long Texii was forced into a TKO loss, as he was unable to intelligently defend himself from the strikes raining down on him from the dominant Uso.

Co-Main Event – Hauser vs Green (Middleweight Championship)
To many spectators this was the real main event of the night, they waited in anticipation to watch Middleweight Champion Ron Green in his first title defence. Both fighters enter the cage with an untarnished record, both having won three fights without loss. However, that is where the similarities end, Hauser a technically adept BJJ fighter on the other hand Green a powerful striker.
The fight stayed vertical for only 85 seconds before Hauser was able to land a takedown and utilise his Jujitsu expertise. It took four attempts but finally he caught Green in an unescapable Triangle lock, finishing the fight before the end of the first round. Crowning himself the new Middleweight Champion.

Main Card – Shelby vs Albabba (Sub of the Night)
A rematch between two of VCCs most successful middleweight fighters, the winner would announce themselves as one of the leading contenders in the division. When the two fighters had previously clashed Albabba came out victor by way of unanimous decision, in VCC 9.
Albabba brought to the cage an advanced wrestling game accompanied by some strong boxing. On the other hand Shelby brought a balanced all round game, although probably looking to keep the fight stood up.
Unfortunately for Shelby this was not how the fight went down with Albabba shooting for, and successfully completing, a takedown just seconds into the first round. On this occasion, Shelby was able to utilise succesful defence until the referee judged that the fight should be stood up. This process was once again repeated bringing up the end of the first round. A round which everyone would agree was dominated by Albabba.
The second round looked to follow the same the routine, with Albabba landing yet another takedown, he looked unstoppable. But no sooner had Shelby’s back hit the mat, than he saw an opening and was able to establish a strong guard. From here he was then able to losse his leg enabling a loose guard, something which Albabba seemed to ignore, giving Shelby a chance to lock it in tighter. Seconds later Albabba found himself in an unescapable triangle choke, forced to tap before losing consciousness.
Making the score 1 – 1, and surely setting up a deciding fight between the two warriors. Albabba took time at the end of the fight to recognise his loss and request this most desirable deciding fight.

Main Card – Shot vs Adams
This fight ended in one of the bigger knock outs of the night, only just beaten to the VCC 21 KO of the night award. Shot living up to his name landing a ‘Head Shot’ which saw Adams hit the canvas, within the first round.
The fight established Shot as an upcoming force in the light heavyweight division, now on a two fight win streak. Not having lost since submitting to reigning 205lbs champion Alfie Solomon. Hopefully for him he will be able to maintain his run of victories in his next bout.
On the other hand of the fortune scale, Adams fall from grace continues having now lost four of his last five fights. One time champion of the Vanquish division, Adams will be looking to turn his recent run of poor form on its head in his next fight.

Fatton vs Kuli
This was by far the night’s bloodiest affair. Historically Fatton has struggled with cuts, having lost one fight previously by way of TKO cut, meaning he is no stranger to the sight of blood on the cage floor. However on this occasion, he was not the fighter with the lacerated face, rather it was his historically more successful opponent, Feta Kuli.
Fatton landed a clean shot in the opening seconds of the bout opening up a small gash around his opponents left eye, over the next two minutes Fatton was able to target the cut, causing it to open to a sickening extent.
Many of the shots were in fact landed off his back having been taken down by Kuli following the initial damage. In an unuasual end to the fight after just 2 minutes 40 seconds, Fatton’s striking from the bottom ended the fight. The referee stopped the fight and asked for the doctors opinion, he swiftly ended the bout to avoid any further damage to the fighter. Fatton wins – TKO (Cut).
