With a great first round of the Capital Carnage 205lbs Tournament, we move on to Round Two, with the remaining eight fighters battling it out. This is another Event that our great sponsor ZonE Clothing is supporting, and will be selling Merchandise at the venue.

Round One results:

Mike Tyrell KO Bubby Brown in the first round with some great punches. Josh McGuire and Nathan Corbett went the full three round, before the Judges gave the win to Josh Jaxon Bailey couldn’t finish off William Wild Bill, and left it to the judges to award him the win Eric Draven decimated Rhys Sullivan before the referee stepped in and stopped the fight Gil Gilbert locked in a nice Kimura to beat Sovann Seng in the first round Jordan Jackson was being destroyed by Corey Parker, until he worked an Armbar in the third round Errol Flynn’s experience showed when he beat Roman the Raptor with a good Americana Kevin Kelly continued his winning ways with an Armbar on Billy Santanu in the first round

So now they have to back it up again this Sunday night, with a couple of the fighters carrying some niggly injuries, will they be able to recover in time.

The Round Two fights will consist of:

Mike Tyrell v Gil Gilbert Josh McGuire v Eric Draven Jaxon Bailey v Jordan Jackson Errol Flynn v Kevin Kelly

The word on the street is that Josh McGuire will be touch and go whether he will be fully recovered from injuries sustained again Nathan Corbett, and if he plans to fight, he may have to hide the pain he will be in, otherwise Eric Draven will definitely target the weakness.

Also on the card, we have the long anticipated 135lbs Title fight between the champ, Ray Richardson, and the Journeyman Bruno Malfacine. Bruno started out with Phoenix Rising in Tokyo, winning the 135lbs title at Phoenix 25 in July 2011. With the organization closing down he moved to The Empire where he had two fights for two wins, before another organization closed down around him. From there he moved here to Sydney, and joined Triumph United (ACME) where he won the 135lbs title, then lost it. Not long after he lost the title, it was announced that Triumph would be shutting up shop. As an organization owner, I am starting to wonder if maybe he causes the closures, but I am looking forward to the fight.

With the large crowd attendance, we have moved venues, and all further Tournament rounds will be held at The Underground – Sydney. So jump online and buy tickets before they are all sold out, and I will see you there
