280: Breaker vs. Prime! PREVIEW

What a huge night we have in front of us here. I am so excited that I've already gone through two boxes of kleenex and a third is not out of the question. For your viewing pleasure we have not only one title fight on offer, but two. That's right, both of the titles Heavyweight Prize Fighting award are up for contention and the card is appropriately stacked with talent in order to give the gravity of this situation the weight it deserves. Plenty of the fans favourites are out, Breaker and Hogan are both pumped up to hold onto their trophies and over 17000 fans will be in attendance at MMA Grant Vegas to watch it all go down. If you want to be the putz who misses out on history in the making, so be it, but don't expect to get laid ever again except by surprise from strange, hairy, tattooed men with sunglasses when you next stop in to use a public restroom. For those of you not keen on a bit of buggery let's take a peek at what's on offer:

Jack "The Ripper" Barton vs. "Warpath" James Proudstar

After Barnett put an end to "The Ripper" Barton's 5 fight win streak he swore that he would come back bigger and badder than ever. The only thing standing in his way is "Warpath" Proudstar, a man who is also trying to turn around a loss in his last appearance and one who has a slightly better KO record than "The Ripper". Barton has shown a tendency to go to ground where his quality grappling and wrestling allow him to control and finish however he likes but with Proudstar preferring his fights to end, one way or another, as quickly as possible in the first round I am expecting this fight to end up being more of a slug fest. Barton does still have the slight standing advantage but with Proudstar standing a menacing 24cm taller and almost 50lbs heavier you would expect the two to be more or less evenly matched. This should be a hugely entertaining fight but I think "Warpath" has the record and the mass to find Barton's chin and turn out the lights.

Fedor A million ankle vs. Carter Beauford

It should surprise no one that Ankle is back in the cage only a week after his last appearance. What may surprise some folk however is that he is rematching the very same man, despite knocking him out early in the first round in an OTN effort. Beauford is obviously gunning for some revenge because despite his less than peak energy levels he is asking for some more punishment. I mentioned last week that his absolute lack of standup left him an easy target for Ankle's world class Thai and Western boxing abilities and nothing has changed in a week, obviously. Want my prediction? You know you do. Beauford is going to be out cold again and the state athletic commission may well stop him from competing for a few months while his obviously injured brain heals. Ankle via KO, don't expect this to go past the 2 minute mark.

Ghettin Muhbelleh vs. Hulk "original banana hammock" Hogan

Super Heavyweight. Co-Main Event TITLE FIGHT!

What the hell is the world coming to? Org promoted CBD is throwing one of his babies, Muhbelleh, a veteran of 3 whole fights and nothing of note other than some decent kickboxing, up against the terror that is the champion "Original Banana Hammock" Hogan. If that wasn't enough, both of these men train together under the same management! Is this the result of a training grudge gone horribly, horribly wrong? Is this an attempt to pull of a scam on some book keeper? I don't know, but I do know that poor Muhbelleh fought Hogan to a 5 * 10 minute round decision loss only a week ago. Hogan is obviously not taking things seriously as, an Olympic standard wrestler, he was taken down 7 times by Muhbelleh despite being completely capable of destroying his opponent in any way he decides. So maybe tonight he will go for his first ever submission win!

J "Face" Breaker vs. Prime Time

Heavyweight. Main Event TITLE FIGHT!

We finally get some real competition in the main card. "Face" Breaker is back to defend the title he finally won back after a loss to Hogan back in HWP251. Having retaken the belt from the very same opponent he faces tonight, Time, you can bet there's plenty of animosity in the air and pride on the line. These two men had never met before their last bout so having them meet two times in a row will be very exciting for both the fighters and the fans as Breaker's elite boxing meets Time's elite wrestling. All in all you have to feel that Breaker holds the advantage across the board as his superior training and tenacious chin make him a formidable opponent. Time is no slouch but you can't help but feel "Face" would have been disappointed with only winning via decision last time around and will be keen to turn up the heat a bit for this bout so with that in mind I am tipping a Breaker knock out victory to retain the title.

There you have it boys and girls, the shenanigans and wackiness that makes up HWP280. Get it up ya. I am K-Rad and I am looking forward to seeing your ugly mugs cageside for all of Vegas' finest mixed martial arts mayhem.
