JAG Battle League 10

Event Preview: JBL 10 Brayden vs Point
JAG Battle League (330k)
2018-12-08, Sydney, Hard Knocks - Sydney
Author:Setanta King

Another exciting night on the horizon for the great fighters and manager of JAG Battle League one of the best up and coming fight orgs in MMA Tycoon with some of the most active and fantastic fighters in the game. Next Saturday puts the the 145lb title up for grabs in Sydney when defending champ Brayden Point defends his title against Manu Peralta.  This should be a great contest between the unbeaten Point and the pretender to the throne Peralta. A full house is expected so if you want to get the good seats you better be there early as this is gonna be a sell out show!

Brayden Point                             Manu "Blessed" Peralta

Record 7-0-0 (W-L-D                  Record 4-2-0 (W-L-D)

This is Canada V USA fight taking place in Australia so both fighters have a distance to travel for this one!  Point is the current undisputed champion of this division and has beaten all comers to date. Fighters are even enough on paper with Point being the better in boxing and wrestling but all other talents are even steven.  Point is slightly smaller than Peralta but that won’t phase the champ. Five of Points last wins have been by TKO or KO by way of strikes so he is a man that knows how to hit, but if you think he can only fight one way you would be mistaken as his last title defence was against a decent standup fighter and managed to win by way of submission in the end.  Point tends to prefer clinches but isn’t afraid to go toe to toe either. Peralta’s recent record is mixed but he is coming off the back of two wins on the trot so his back is up a bit at present. Three of his four wins have been by way of Submission with his debut win coming by way of TKO strikes so he can throw a punch although he prefers to fight on the ground.  Peralta can take a punch (or ten) so he may be able to soak up some damage from Point and counter attack with some takedowns to try to gain the advantage but expect Point to resist this as much as he can! Fancy Point to hold onto the title

Chael "The American Gangstar" Sonnen    Ethan "Eel" Wright

Record 8-1-0 (W-L-D)                                  Record 3-3-0 (W-L-D

Sonnen was unbeaten until his last fight when he was beaten after a tough fight by way of      He is of known pedigree while winning belts with his previous org Galdius. Sonnen is a very strong GnP fighter and tends to want to get his fights to the ground early where he can do serious damage on the ground.  Most of his 8 previous wins have been by TKO/KO Strikes so expect his to try to takedown Wright on Saturday to use this to his advantage. Wright on paper has the slight advantage on Boxing, MT and wrestling but Sonnen is the much better at BJJ than Wright so he may use this talent on Saturday to good effect.  Wright is no make weight here against Sonnen and has three wins to his name with two of the three coming by way of TKO strikes, he has a granite chin and is a big fan of pounding lads into the ground so this may become a war of attrition on Saturday with both fighters trying to pile drive each other into the middle of next week.  While Wright is a decent fighter I would have to slightly favour Sonnen in this fight.

Michael "Dark Destroyer" Dark        Jack King

Record 2-4-0 (W-L-D)                      Record 3-2-0 (W-L-D)

The Dark destroyer looks a little bit tired at the time of writing this preview so I hope he gets some good nights rests between now and Saturday !  He is probably out celebrating his beloved hammers beating Cardiff 3-1 tonight so that might explain the tiredness… Dark is the much better boxer than King but King is the much better MT expert but other than that both these lads are fairly even.  Dark had a great start to his career but is coming off the back of four defeats in a row and needs a win to stop the rot. He will most likely try to bring his brawling skills to bear against King and try to stay standing up as much as possible where he is the most comfortable.  King likes to clinch and bring the fight to the ground and this may not suit the Dark Destroyer if he is not up for a ground battle on Saturday. King has won three of his previous fights with TKO, KO and armbar submission being his poisons of choice to win these fights so he is definitely a man of many talents.  Favour King in this bout to win.

Best of luck to all the fighters on Saturday
