Eight Limbs 2 - Momentum recap

On May 9th Eight Limbs Kickboxing held their second event in Las Vegas at The Underground. Company owner Sam Fairtex was hoping for more of what they got in the first five fights at their debut show. He was not disappointed.

Let's take a look at what went down in Vegas!!

Show opener - 1-2 Rush Lors vs 1 - 0 Patrick Van Der Hayden
It took nearly three minutes for these guys to truly get started. Lots of counters and leg kicks that didn't do much damage. Lors attempted to work the body of his opponent but Patrick was in and out before lors had many chances. It was Patrick who connected with a nasty straight right followed by a beautiful left hook that sent Rush to the mat and ended this bout with four seconds remaining in the round. The 2-0 Van Der Hayden now has momentum as his career progresses. He is booked on 23 of May to face Silver Bullion. After the fight Patrick had this to say " My time is now , this is my proving ground. Bullion ain't ready for what's coming."

Fight 2 - 1-0 Karmax Razcan vs 1-1 Jared Conors

The moment the fight began Conors was out to prove his worth. He landed a a front kick that dropped Karmax to the mat immediately. Karmax stood up in a daze and took three more shots from Jared before he went face first into the canvas. Conors got a big win in nine seconds. After the fight Conors asked for stiffer competition, which he'll get on May 23rd against veteran Elijah Pitakka.

Fight 3 - 34 - 48 Tyroil Wallace vs 2 - 3 Iaspero Yalixqua

Isapero was the underdog but Wallace came in hoping to counter and it backfired on him. While Wallace couldn't land much Iaspero landed a stiff body kick and countered his opponents whiffing punch with a nasty right that sent Smoochie to the mat. He couldn't beat the referees count and Iaspero got a huge win. After the fight Iaspero commented on his career. " Kickboxing is my wheelhouse now. No more mma matches where I get held onto and humped. I'm here to knock people out."

Fight 4 - 20- 10 Jari Bull vs 12 - 12 Joon Wrecking Ball

This match went the entire fifteen minutes simply because Joon has a hell of a chin, at least of this night. Jari dominated each round with jags, counters and crosses. He perfected his clinch game and picked his opponent apart. In the end he didn't get the finish but a unanimous decision was good enough for Jari. " This was my debut in kickboxing. I have a lot to learn but I know how to punch people in the face and I won't be stopping anytime soon."

Fight 5 - 1 - 2 KT Marius Weinke vs 0-0 KT Valentin Saric

Saric really rounded out round 1 nicely working the jab and countering with some good body shots. Weinke tried to land a lot in round one but Saric was too quick most of the time. Saric won the first round but took a knee to the head that caused a small laceration. In round 2 Valentin showed his footwork and quickness. He dominated the round because he dictated the clinch that Wienke desperately wanted. Saric was in and out with quick strikes that added up. At the beginning of round three Weinke was well aware he was down two rounds and needed a finish. In the third round both men came out ready to end the fight. Throwing heavy fists and kicks. Weinke threw a nasty headlock that caught Saric off guard but he wouldn't be outdone. He landed some strikes of his own that made Weinke take a few steps back. Saric misses an uppercut and Weinke lands a nasty right. Saric is knocked loopy, Weinke loads up the leg and pelts him with a high kick. Saric drops likens sack of potatoes. After the fight Marius promised more highlight knockouts to come and Saric promised to learn from this and come back stronger.

Co Main Event - 5 - 3 KT Asa Sharpe vs 10 - 13 KT Duke Nukem

Asa Sharp absolutely dominated this fight in the clinch and put on a masterful performance doing so. Duke had no answer for the shoulder strikes from Sharp. Not only did they stun Nukem but they helped set up other strikes. Sharp landed nasty elbows and knees in the clinch, one that opened up Nukem. Sharp tightens the clinch and lands a nasty knee that drops Duke to the mat for a six count . Duke somehow gets to his feet but the referee calls off the fight for Nukem's safety. After the fight Razor Sharp had something to say. " I love the people who support me. I'm just getting started. Stick with me all the way to the top."

Main Event 0-0 KT Jesus Robbo vs 0-0 KT Troy Hooper

Both men have extensive mma backgrounds. Robbo a world class boxer and Hooper a world class muay thai expert. This fight was a Randy, lots of strikes thrown early and often. Troy Hooper showed his class in the first two rounds by striking at range getting in and out quickly. Jesus was able to land but not at the rate of Hooper. Jesus believed he was more powerful and came in with a tactical approach. Hooper in the third was ahead on scorecards and was looking to get a big win but began to put together a striking combo that stunned his opponent. Robbo followed up a thudding leg kick with a right cross followed by another right that sent Hooper tumbling to the canvas. Hooper couldn't get up as the referee counted and Jesus Robbo was awarded a huge win. Both men shine in this one. After the fight Robbo announced he was now a free agent and that 8 Limbs better pay him or he's walking. As of this writing a deal is not done but is being negotiated.

Sam Fairtex awarded Knockout of the night to Jared Conors for his nine second head kick ko. Fairtex also awarded Robbo and Hooper for a phenomenal fight.
