Last night CMMA 9 took place at the Hayashi Lounge in Los Angeles. It was a great night of fights. Only 1 fight went to a decision, the rest of the fights were finished by submisisions and TKO's!
In the main event Stefan de Vries took on Kribbson Urmago for the 145lbs title. It took Stefan de Vries only 22 seconds to TKO his opponent to become the first CMMA 145 pound champion! His record is now 6-0, all finishes by TKO which is very very impressive. Congratulations champ!
In the co-main event we had Oscar Aviles taking on Kebab Nurmagomedoff. In the first 2 rounds Kebab showed his wrestling skills and won both rounds on the judges scorecards. Being down 2 rounds Aviles knew he had to finish Kebab, and he did! With just 25 seconds left in the final round he got a RNC and tapped out Kebab. Amazing perforance from Aviles!
Branca vs Smith was also a very entertaining fight! In the opening minute Branca got cut and rocked by Smith! Branca quickly went to the ground where he recovered and returned the favour. A huge elbow rocked Smith and could not deal with the ground and pound from Branca who got the victory! Very nice comeback!
