Howdy folks! Hare Rumpler here along with my buddy and colleague, Donkey “Dan”, as we get set for an exhilarating SPPS 233 in London today! If the Wombley is a rockin’, and it will be, well…um…you just gotta get over there! Or something like that. Haha!
Tonight’s big fight will be the Featherweight Title Fight between challenger Lemmy Bang…who won the belt back in December but lost it in his first defense…and the man who took the belt back to reclaim the title for himself, Jihadi Joseph! This is Joseph’s third go at holding the title and he’s hoping that three times is a charm and that this will be a successful title defense, something that has eluded him to this point. I doubt Bang plans to make that an easy task!
Other big action, pun definitely intended, will give us the return of the Parta Party as Parta Matti and Ronan Darongo get at it in the Co-Main Event this evening. This is a Top Contender battle and will set one of them up for a title fight in late March. Granted, we don’t know who will hold the title by then as there will be two Heavyweight title fights between now and then, but hey, they know they’re up in the batting order! Well, one of them will be at least.
Other great fights include Rahman and Capac at Welterweight…a fight that will put one of them just a step or so away from a Top Contender fight of their own…and Knox and Lehto, two talented Heavyweights who are each trying to bounce back from disappointing losses in their last outings. Besides all that, you’ve got the evening starting with Lightweights with Pablo and Anti getting at it, some more Heavyweight action in the second fight at Outlaw and Krol both try to get on the right track and move forward and back up the ladder, lots of Welterweight action with Benny versus Lankinen and Andonian and Queen all getting in there to mix it up and even more beyond that. But let’s leave all that detail to the fight discussions below…because we have to cover a new development here…
