John Daugherty, recent former owner and creator of ENIGMA sold his shares of the company and his staff has moved to Helsinki, Finland where they have partnered with Finn Nutrition and acquired the regional fight promotions to consolidate into FREAKSHOW. The new organization will have a unique structure that will differentiate itself from the other organizations. First and foremost, this will be starting as an 18 year old organization, but fighters will be handicapped at a bjj blue belt max. The reason for this is we want to promote mixed martial arts, and obviously the ground game is huge; that being said we don't want our young fighters that have yet to train for higher level bjj competition to fight grapplers. If a fight goes to the ground, all fighters should have an opportunity to not be overwhelmed. The next difference is how the organization will run. Daugherty says it will be consisted on six fighters per weight class, and every fighter will fight the other five opponents in a round robin format. Each victory will give points to the fighters, like the modern day Professional Fighters League. KO/TKO victories will earn 3 pts, Sub victories will earn 2 pts, and a decision win will give 1 pt. After all five fights are finished the top two fighters by points will fight for the belt. Daugherty says that each fight will be a 1x10 min round inside a ring with full fight scoring, to make sure that each fighter does their absolute best to finish their opponent. Each champion manager will receive a 50K bonus directly deposited into the manager's account, and then all champions will fight in an open weight tournament for the one million dollar prize. We expect this model to run by seasons, after the 1st season is complete a new set of fighters will be recruited, as will the age allowance as champions will continue to build a reputation.
