The penultimate round was a doozy! All fights, bar one, producing finishes and we also had numerous 100% rating fights - which Mark Roland will be very happy about!
Augusto Nilo and Allen Douglas received automatic wins for their 'actual' opponents not showing up - Douglas even managed to defeat his replacement opponent, which will bring immense joy to his manager Alfred Winterbottom no doubt.
In other Group B's other two fights we had Du Vicious overcoming fellow power-puncher in Spence, in a rock 'em sock 'em affair, coming away with a first round KO, And Van Manhoef continued to impress, beating a galant De Texeira via a 3rd round KO
Over in group A, Bedri Ayax got KO of the night with a vicious head kick of Nicolaas Vandeloo. Bedri started the tournament 1-3 but is now charging home, now registered back-back wins and is firming as a tournament favourite. In other Group A fights, an unloved Kush Kezman continued to dispel his boring reputation and got a KO victory over Maddox.
Meanwhile Bob Drogo and Luis De Andrade earned Fight of the Night honours with a back and forth spectacle, with both fighters getting rocked, with De Andrade coming out on top at the very end of round 2.
Rounding out Group A we had a David and Goliath battle between 'Cuts Easy' Arman Naji vs the fighter gifted from the gods Hossein Salami. While Naji may not have been blessed with any real hiddens to speak of, he sure fought above his pedigree, narrowly losing to a fighter gifted everything. For Salami, this was another poor performance considering all the advantages he's been given under the hood. Questions will now surely be asked, can he turn things around?
1 more round to go in the group stage!
Until next time, Happy Fighting!
