BFT - 140 Preview

Middleweight - Maxim "MoneyMaker" Reality (3-3) [BFT 1-1] vs "Twin Fists of Fury" Mark Johnson (2-2) [BFT 1-2]

Maxim Reality likes to walk a thin line on the feet; one we like to call Do or Die. He can land some phenomenal punches and can end the fight at moment. Just look at what happened to Ruffo Guttierez. But at the same time he gets reckless and can be stopped at any time, like he was against Joe Williams at BFT - 133. Which will it be?

Mark Johnson has never seen out side the first round. Sometimes it works in his favor, when he ground and pounded Alex Rosenberg. But if he can't get the takedown, he has a it of a hard time. He wants to rebound from a loss from a tough Brick Taylor.

Prediction: Like I said, if Johnson doesn't get a takedown he might have a hard time. With that said, I believe that he can do it and get Maxim to face the reality of his loss. Johnson via RD1 SUB.

Light Heavyweight - John "Jack" Kennedy (4-2) [BFT 4-2] vs Nathaniel "The Natural" Forrester (5-8) [BFT 0-1]

Kennedy here is a tough tough compeditor. He goes hard and tries to take down the toughest guys put in front of him. I mean look at his losses. Titus Kahoohalphala: Who fought for the title not so long ago. Shogun BDown: another former title challenger who he won fight of the night with. Although he might not be the most recognisable, he is a fearsome Light Heavy getting into a stride.

Do you like guys who want to just punch people in the face? Someone who doesn't like to leave a fight in the judges hands? Forrester is your guy! Only twice has he ever gone to a decision, but they are scattered amongst a career of mostly first round finishing. But let me tell you this; if left standing, he can and will headhunt, and you DON'T want him to be successful if your standing across from him.

Prediction: It seems like it's a pretty even fight. I'm leaning towards Kennedy. I think he has what it takes to adapt better to wherever the fight goes and to be successful at it. Kennedy via UD.

Lightweight - Frank Slagman (4-2) [BFT 2-2] vs Carlos Silva (6-3) [BFT 6-3]

Frank Slagman walks into a fight with a submission mission. He will do whatever he can to to take down a fight and choke you out. And I would be especially careful in his gaurd. With 3 triangle finishes, I can sense a trend forming. If the fight hits the mat, then he can absolutely finish it.

Enter Carlos Silva. Another submission specialist. He holds 5 of his 6 fights as victories by submission. He isn't too complicated of a fighter. He just wants to help his opponent catch up on some sleep; sleep they probably lost thinking of the looming fight against Carlos Silva.

Prediction: Frank is probably looking to avenge his earlier loss to Silva by decision. It is really hard to tell who has the edge here. I think I will lean towards... Silva by coinflip. No but seriously. Silva via UD.

Co-Main - Welterweight - Chumba Wumba (4-1) [BFT 4-1] vs "Nom" Nom Nomm (5-3-1) [BFT 5-2-1]

Riding a 3 fight winning streak, Chumba Wumba is looking for a huge win against a big name. Now don't get me wrong his usual late finishes put on a great showing. But his flash knockout against Spar Wrestling was just amazing. It even earned him a knockout of the night bonus. He's looking for a step up here and get a big finish. And friend, he only wins with big finishes.

Nomm is a name BFTers should recognize easily. He fights often and gets some nice victories. He was riding a 4 fight winning streak before a loss to Jake shields. With 3 of his 4 finishes being by submission, I would say that anyone who wants to take the mat with him is either crazy or Jake Shields. If he can take it down on the ground, he could walk away with another early submission win.

Prediction: I think that Wumba will step up here and take down a Nomm that's not in a great place. Wumba via RD 3 TKO.

Main Event - Lightweight - "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi (15-5) [BFT 7-4] vs Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn (17-13-1) [BFT 16-10-1]

"Kana". 5 Fight of the Night bonuses. 1 Knockout of the Night bonus. Challenged for the Lightweight title against Enrico Mazzarri, and almost made it to decision. Although he has been on a bit of a dry spell in finishes, with all 4 of his last victories being by decision, but when he does get a finish, it is spectacular. We'll see if "Kana" can break through against an extremely tough guy in...

"Fishbowl". 7 Fight of the Night bonuses. 1 Knockout of the Night bonus. Challenged for the Lightweight title against Damian Miller. He too has been in a bit of a decision dry spell lately, with 3 of his last 4 victories being made by decision. But he also holds 9 knockout victories with some strong pride in him Muy Thai skills. If he gets it into the clinch, one should be cautious.

Prediction: Both of these guys are tough guys. It's hard to imagine that they have never faced each other before. I think that "Kana" holds the edge here and will make it 3 in a row. Atsushi by UD.

Undercard:

265- "Nuclear" Kim Jong Dong beats Marcellous "Cigaretee" Nikoteen

155- "Black" Jack Daniels beats Bart Van Elleboghen
