Then, in our main event, Atte Peltola will try for the third time to dethrone Aleksi Vihtala.

Let's head inside the cage and check out the action.

HERO 37: Vihtala vs Peltola III

Prelims

Heavyweight Division:  Warmonger Sion vs Enrique Alvarez

Sion was relentless with the submission attempts in this fight. He got the fight to the mat early in both rounds, then went for an amazing 31 submission attempts. Alvarez showed strong defenses by holding off the first thirty, but finally succumbed to the arm triangle. Result: Sion by 2nd round submission (Arm Triangle)

Bantamweight Division: Martin Huuhkaja vs Artie Lange

Huuhkaja's boxing skills were on full display in this one. He aggressively attacked with punches while maintaining strong takedown defense. When going for the kill, Huuhkaja missed on the first two shots, but the third punch in his combo found its home and KO'd Lange. Result: Huuhkaja by 1st round KO (Punches)

Bantamweight Division: Conor Heatrt vs John Dodson

Heatrt got an early takedown in this fight and spent the majority of the round on top working for submissions. He couldn't get one to stick, and late in the round, Dodson reversed into top position. He seized his opportunity by locking in the submission that Heatrt couldn't. Result: Dodson by 1st round submission (Armbar)

Lightweight Division: Jango Fett vs Valko Hai

In the opening round, Hai got an early takedown and controlled the action from the top for the full five minutes, winning the round. In the second, was the one who scored the takedown and used the opportunity to unleash brutal ground and pound. Hai's face was a mess by the end of the round, so the doctor stepped in and ended things. Result: Fett by 2nd round TKO (Cut)

Lightweight Division: Igor Byhenikov vs Randy West

Nobody attempted a takedown in this brawl. Both men stood in front of each other and traded for fifteen minutes. While Igor got his shots in, West's blend of punches and leg kicks was the clearly dominant striking display. All three judges agreed. Result: West by unanimous decision

Main Card

Featherweight Division: Jacky Ler vs Aku Juhtanen

This was the pro debut for Jacky Ler. He seemed to come out a little nervous, allowing Juhtanen to rock him and steal the first round. However, he came back with dominant clinchwork in the second, almost finishing the fight himself. He got the job done for good in the third, again using great striking from the clinch. Result: Ler by 3rd round TKO (Strikes)

Lightweight Division: Usko Luttinen vs Natalie Renee

Like last fight, most of the action in this one took place in the clinch. Both fighters chose to dirty box, but Luttinen managed to do it just a little bit better. An uppercut followed by a flurry of follow up strikes ended this one in the first round. Result: Luttinen by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Middleweight Division: Mark Murphy vs Rafael Carneiro

Murphy clinched up early in this one. Carneiro tried to get the fight to the mat twice, but Murphy stuffed him both times. This allowed Murphy to cut Carneiro with a big knee to the face, then then use an uppercut and barrage of fists to force the ref to jump in. Result: Murphy by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Co-Main Event

Heavyweight Division: Tobias Larsson vs Jestem Trzezwy

The theme of the night seemed to be clinchwork and it continued in this fight. Larsson used dirty boxing to pick apart Trzezwy. His uppercuts were particularly effective. One of them dropped Jestem, and another was used to set up the finish to the fight. Result: Larsson by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Main Event

Light Heavyweight Championship: Aleksi Vihtala vs Atte Peltola III

Peltola got the early takedown that he needed, but he couldn't do enough on the ground to satisfy the ref. Afer a standup, Vihtala busted open the challenger and worked away from striking distance with a mix of punches and kicks. Late in the round, Vihtala rocked Peltola with a huge head kick, then followed up with his fists to retain his title and remain undefeated. Result: Vihtala by 1st round TKO (Strikes)
