Gaines seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gaines gets to his feet - Fists follows without any prompting.
Fists closes the distance but Gaines moves to the side

and Gaines counters by moving into the clinch.

Gaines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gaines changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fists tries to avoid it but Gaines manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fists to the ground. Fists escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gaines looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mata with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
