The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Auditore keeps the fight on the outside.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Auditore enables Velouria to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Auditore manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Velouria got a little sloppy there for a moment and Auditore has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Velouria has managed to get both his arms back between Auditore's legs - danger averted.

Velouria seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Auditore for as long as he can get away with.

Velouria is sitting in close to Auditore's body. Auditore has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Velouria is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Velouria is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Auditore.

Lewis should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Herring has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Herring looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lewis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
