The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Nucka.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nucka sprawls well. Nucka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Nucka circles away.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nucka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith wants to clinch up but Nucka keeps it at a distance.
Nucka looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallon lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Kari Tapio has been cut.
Mallon throws a series of punches but Tapio moves out of range.
Mallon connects with a looping right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Decent striking displayed by Mallon there.
Tapio avoids the body shot from Mallon.

Tapio shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mallon's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gan is looking to clinch but Vemola is avoiding it.
Vemola really is a fat lump.
Vemola shoots in looking for a takedown but Gan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vemola's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vemola swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vemola has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gan has managed to get both his arms back between Vemola's legs - danger averted.

Gan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vemola's guard.

Vemola is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gan pulls his head out easily.
Gan trying to mount his opponent but Vemola defends it.

Gan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vemola has managed to free his arm - good work.
