The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nub swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Nub can't escape the position.
Nub is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hogan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nub on the ground.
Hogan trying to control but Nub is having none of it.
Nub tries to improve his position but instead Hogan has taken his back!
Hogan has the hooks in. Nub is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Hogan is looking for the choke from the back position but Nub is controlling his hands well.
Nub covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Hogan is trying to stick to Nub's back but Nub is turning into Hogan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hogan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nub.
Hogan has his hands on Nub's head, controlling the position.
Nub postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Nub throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hogan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Nub wants to pass the guard but Hogan is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nub accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nub drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hogan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nub has Hogan in his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
