Sturm closes the distance and clinches up with McBrain, looking for a takedown. Sturm pushes McBrain against the cage but McBrain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sturm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sturm tries for a kimura but McBrain is defending well.

Sturm fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McBrain.

and Sturm counters with a shoot takedown. McBrain fights it but they end up in guard.

Sturm swings around for an armbar but McBrain sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sturm's guard.

McBrain decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sturm, up you get!
Sturm throws a quick inside leg kick.
McBrain walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Sturm counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sturm.

Sturm changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McBrain tries to avoid it but Sturm manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McBrain to the ground. McBrain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bruce McBrain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Sturm.

Sturm tries to move to mount but McBrain blocks the move with his legs.

Sturm is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sturm goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McBrain has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sturm but great work by McBrain.

Sturm is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but McBrain is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Sturm is in all sorts of trouble here.
McBrain manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sturm to take his back!

McBrain gets back to his feet. Sturm is certainly not going to complain about that decision.
McBrain misses with a few strikes there.
McBrain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McBrain swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sturm counters with a nice double leg into side control. McBrain won't be happy with that.

Sturm thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sturm is trying to get an arm triangle but McBrain is defending well.
