Mendes throws a nice looking combination but Pacquiao bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mendes connects with a leg kick. Pacquiao looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pacquiao rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pacquiao misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mendes.

Mendes lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Pacquiao sprawling to the canvas. Mendes follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Pacquiao hang on?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent misses with a takedown attempt - Lieu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kent shoots in looking for a takedown. Lieu tries to sprawl out of it but Kent keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Lieu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lieu lands a big head kick that sends Kent to the canvas! Lieu follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jin Lieu!

It looks like Stephen Hawkings has been cut.
Hawkings scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A big right from Hawkings misses.

Renaud closes the distance and clinches.
Renaud tries a knee to the head but Hawkings blocks it.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Renaud throws an elbow but misses.
Renaud throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hawkings blocks it with crossed arms.
Hawkings is trying to force a seperation but Renaud has the dominant position.
Hawkings wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hawkings breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hawkings swings for the body but Renaud moves out of range.
Hawkings loads up on a big right hand but Renaud slips the punch.
Renaud throws a head kick that Hawkings semi-blocks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hawkings gets tackled into the ropes by Renaud. Renaud maintains the clinch.
Hawkings has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hawkings is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Hawkings breaks from the clinch.
Renaud throws a head kick that misses.
Hawkings throws a big shot that misses.
Renaud defending well as Hawkings loads up on a big left hand.
Renaud lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hawkings will feel that in the morning.
Renaud tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Renaud blocks a jab.
Stephen Hawkings seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawkings steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Renaud. That one must have hurt.

Renaud lands a head kick!
Hawkings is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Hawkings looks gassed!
Renaud tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick by Hawkings misses
and Renaud counters with a thumping low kick.
Renaud tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Renaud moves in looking to clinch but Hawkings pushes him off.

Renaud lands a big head kick that sends Hawkings tumbling to the mat! Renaud takes a step backwards and waves Hawkings back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Renaud wants to clinch up but Hawkings keeps it at a distance.
Renaud throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Hawkings is rocked!
Hawkings pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Renaud avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hawkings on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Renaud keeps Hawkings at a distance using the push kick.
Renaud fails with an attempt to clinch.
Renaud tries to close the distance and clinch but Hawkings swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A head kick misses from Renaud.
Renaud lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Renaud instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Renaud keeps control of Hawkings as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Renaud unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hawkings lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Renaud pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Renaud lands a big head kick that sends Hawkings tumbling to the mat! Renaud takes a step backwards and waves Hawkings back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hawkings is still on wobbly legs! Can Renaud finish him?

Renaud forces Hawkings back against the ropes and clinches.
Renaud jerks Hawkings's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Hawkings drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Renaud goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Renaud because Hawkings was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Matthieu Renaud!
