The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Christmas.
Christmas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Savage circles away quickly and effectively.

Savage shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Christmas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Savage is looking for a kimura but Christmas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Savage to get the leverage.
Christmas is looking for a sweep. Savage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Savage throws some wild stikes that Christmas manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elliot is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Jones is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Jones flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Elliot anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Jones and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Elliot slips an arm under Jones chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Elliot has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Elliot is squeezing on Jones like an anaconda would it's prey. Jones fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
