The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien closes the distance and clinches up with Cotter, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes Cotter against the ropes but Cotter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shine tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Silva throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shine sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shine goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Shine tries a head kick but it misses.
Shine slips a jab and a cross from Silva.
Shine dodges the punch combination from Silva.
Shine takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Shine connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Silva scores a takedown into full mount!
Silva cracks Shine with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like rafael aurelio has been cut.
aurelio looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gordon works over aurelio's head and body with a nice combination.
aurelio takes a shot right to the bread basket.
aurelio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gordon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Gordon lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gordon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gordon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and aurelio has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Gordon cracks aurelio with an open hand slap.
Gordon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Gordon connects with a right hand. aurelio shakes it off.

rafael aurelio's cut is getting worse.
Gordon throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on aurelio's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Gordon dives in looking to finish as aurelio flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Gordon's strikes! Gordon is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! aurelio's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but aurelio was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Neville gets caught flat footed, as Pena shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pena passes Neville's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Neville knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pena on the ground.

Pena uses his free foot to push down on Neville's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Neville.
Pena sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Pena is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Neville can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like Ricky Neville has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
