The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakisoba feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shamrock's calf.
Yakisoba takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shamrock throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yakisoba sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Yakisoba ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Shamrock uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Yakisoba.
Yakisoba takes a swing at Shamrock's ribcage but misses.
Yakisoba circles away from the clinch attempt.

Shamrock throws a looping overhand right but Yakisoba ducks down to avoid it.
Shamrock throws a big shot that misses.
Yakisoba looks to score with a jab to the body but Shamrock is just out of range.

Shamrock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shamrock closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Yakisoba quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Shamrock throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Yakisoba because Shamrock loaded up on that one.

Yakisoba is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Shamrock locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Yakisoba is forced to tap!
