The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frai closes the distance but Kosarev moves to the side

and Kosarev counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Frai tries to clinch but Kosarev moves away

Frai seems a little lost for a moment, as Kosarev dominates the positioning.

Kosarev stands up and beckons Frai to his feet.
Frai avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kosarev closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Frai quickly recovers to half guard.

Kosarev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kosarev uses his free foot to push down on Frai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Frai.

Kosarev stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kosarev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frai's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frai can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kosarev maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Frai could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kosarev has cracked it and Frai is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kosarev!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Bashkin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Agro is pressed up against the cage. McCartny has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Agro down to the mat. Agro avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Smirnov is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Smirnov is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bunoyan couldn't care less - he's delighted!
