The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon throws a wild body kick that StPierre sees coming a mile off.
A big right from Dixon misses.

StPierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dixon looking to control.
Dixon keeping moving, preventing StPierre from controlling successfully.

Dixon had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. StPierre is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dixon Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take StPierre's back instead.
StPierre covering up well and avoiding damage.
Dixon is trying to stick to StPierre's back but StPierre is turning into Dixon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dixon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by StPierre.

StPierre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

StPierre drops back looking for a leg! Dixon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dixon manages to kick StPierre off! StPierre jumps back into Dixon's guard.
StPierre is pushing down on Dixon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dixon is fighting to maintain full guard but StPierre has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dixon has a hand on StPierre's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. StPierre takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Dixon stops StPierre from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
StPierre tries to control but Dixon wriggling away.

StPierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dixon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by StPierre.

StPierre is rocked!
Dixon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
StPierre is still on wobbly legs! Can Dixon finish him?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dixon is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! StPierre lets go of the hold and Dixon can pop his arm back in it's socket.

I think Mir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Go Ninja- Vanilla Ice. Cain Mir has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Turner forces Mir back against the cage and clinches.
Mir swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Turner manages to break the clinch.

Turner moves into the clinch successfully.

Turner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Turner. No joy for Mir on that attempt.
Mir looks for a takedown but Turner sprawls well.

Turner swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Mir wants to control the pace but Turner is squirming around nicely.

Mir swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Turner is now in Mir's guard. A big mistake from Mir there, giving up the dominant position!

Mir lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Turner!
Mir wants to take Turner's back here but Turner is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Mir wants to work for an arm triangle but Turner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mir is pressing down on Turner's thigh, looking to free his foot. Turner is holding on for now.

That was a close round but I would say that Angelo Vincetti will probably get the nod.

Sufjan Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
